The running costs put me off the M5 or the Audi equivalent though you really have to compare with the RS6 as the RS4 is a bit on the small side (i.e. 3 series not 5 series). That said I'll probably be moaning about mine anyway after a few sets of tyres, brake pads, discs, etc. So long as nothing major goes wrong though I'll give serious consideration to extending the warranty when he approved used one is up. As I do 40 miles a day commuting and didn't really want the hassle of running two cars the 535d had to be the way to go, great performance and it is possible to get 40mpg out of it, though only through restraint ![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Never liked the E60 M5 all that much - prefer the M3. And the range of both is just dire. Great fun cars for those with big pockets but if we turned up to a meeting in an M5 or similar, we'd look a bit silly.
It has to be nippy but subtle, hence to original "shortlist."
Sytners coming back to me with some numbers on the M135i - looks like the 335d is actually worth at least two grand more than I thought (even p/x'd) which is handy.
The M135i is a bit like me - not too pretty (!) but smallish, a bit techy and boasting a good power to weight ratio.
I'll get my coat...

Go and have a go in an M135i. Awesome. And i'm a mid 20's hoonigan that loves his Impreza. Not the prettiest, but well equipped, comfortable, and it is quick. Then cheapish road tax at £195 pa, and mpg isnt bad for what it is. However BMW's finance isnt great IMO.

3.9% finance and a dealer deposit contribution - I wouldn't call that too shabby.

Impreza STis
X5s
X3s
Evos
RR Sports
Merc R class
Panamera
Cayenne
You get the picture.
Hey our current BM isn't a stunner (although I like it) but it's a great car. It's about how it drives, how it goes, what it can do.
I don't like the look of almost every supercar (too big, too vulgar, etc) but plenty spend massive bucks on them. A 911 does all I'd ever need a fast car to do but is just too much money with no room for the dog too

What a kin ugly car - I felt quite justified in saying to myself
"You sir, are a fvcking loser"
The panamera is a handsome looking car btw

Them cars might be ugly to you Matt, but I bet the owners thought they looked good when they bought them. I couldn't spend 30k on a car that 'I' thought looked ugly when I walked upto it in the car park.

I'm with Jim on this one.
I have an RRS and like the look of it otherwise I wouldn't have bought it, one reason I wouldn't buy a Cayenne is I don't like the look of them.
Nik.

I will always prefer a "colour" since we had our black X5.
Currently our E90 Le Mans blue looks great when it's clean(about 9 months ago now), but a sporting BM looks best in Estoril blue....

Yep, I'm liking the blue too. The van is grey so matching cars would look gay. The BM is black which I like but its a nightmare to keep clean!

Just had the current black BM tidied up after the missus reversed it into another BM. Repaired under insurance but paid a bit more for a machine polish and a few little scuffs to be sorted last week. It looked great; for about a day!
The roads round here are like fields. Almost pointless washing your car (but I still do...)!
The grey van hides the dirt a lot better. Blue would probably be better still (our blue Jimny seemed almost dirt proof in a similar hue).

Have a look at the colours in the dealer - they do a lot more than those in the brochure.
We wanted Imola red on the Alpina (had it before and really like it) but at the time it wasn't available - I believe it is now.
The 1er would look great in it, quite a dark red and solid.
Deep Sea blue looks fantastic in the metal, too.

They're doing 0% on the M3 and big dealer contributions. BMW is very keen to move cars and a mate got £6k off list for his M135i. Will see firstly if we can all fit in one (surely more room than in a 911 - a very weak "selling point" to the wife even though we can't afford a 911!), see if I can live with the electric steering and then try and drive one. Easier said than done down in the sticks!!

6k off list for the NEW model M135i which is getting rave reviews everywhere?? ...seems silly to offer such a big discount on a car which has been so well received
