What fuel are you using?, i doubt someone would go to the trouble of fitting forged pistons without a remap.

Shell v Power.... they may well have had it mapped, as said its booked in at a local garage for the last week in jan to check everything over, had been advised about mapping it to run on UK fuel so things like this will be checked...

When was it imported?? Forged pistons could indicate engine rebuilt due to detting from no remap for uk fuel.

Get it mapped asap or another rebuild may be on the cards.

See a grown up attitude will get you the advice you need.

Who exactly is checking your car out Ash?
I'm only asking as, the way things are, the last thing you need is a non-specialist giving you their version of the way things should be.
Let's be careful out there

P1 suspension is a bit softer than the standard JDM Sti, and is probably past it's best.

I took my nephew out in my blob wagon with ppp and he nearly wet himself at how quick and how well it handled, and he has a fiesta st, the blob weighs about 230kg more than an sti type r, so you really need to look at your set up.

Oh and your driving.

It's probably the standard forged Sti pistons but as per usual they get made out to be the real deal when it comes to selling the car.

14 year old car against newer (more powerful) motors?
Hmmmm, I wonder why it can't "slay" them....?
Here's another idea for a fair race... Why not take a 70's Lancia Stratos and pitch it against your Fords.... Hmmm, that can't keep up either - even though the Lancia is a legend!
The world's gone crazy. That's the only explanation...

P1 strutts and springs were designed specifically for UK roads by Prodrive as the v5 sti JDM (the car the P1 was based on), was too stiff for our poorly maintained roads. You probably won't get much better than that for your car unless you do lots of track days and you can probably justify coilovers.

How many miles (kms), has it on the clock?

I would have said the same, but a friend of the family should be safe for a look-over. At least they're not looking to gang rape your wallet.

I always find it funny when a car gets blamed for the drivers lack of talent....lol....

Trust me, seriously, if you couldn't evade a fiesta with half the power and 2 driving wheels then you really need to learn your car. Imprezas take some practice before you can get the most from them. If you know what your doing then a 300 bhp classic with a few cheap suspension upgrades is a match for almost anything.

maybe in bad weather conditions.... i think you may have the blinkers on here and are underestimating other cars these days like i did with the fiesta ST.... because of the hype the scooby gets i expected it due to power to weight to be quicker than my old RS.... and it is... up to about 60mph... but just things like accelerating from 30-70 the Rs was much quicker.... which is why i asked if the scooby is an over rated car.... which i believe it is... and i think there will be a fair few on here too that in the back of their minds agree with me but just wont admit it cause they fell for the hype and bought one like myself...

I tell you what op the Fiesta is one thing however don't ever try playing with a Mk1 MX5 with around 100bhp on twisty roads, it might possibly make you want to sell your car
