How are they going to get another bullet proof windscreen with +10hp solar powered panels within such a short time period?

You must really have told those guys off Ty.

Forgot to say - they are going back out on Monday to change the screen and seal/trim due to the rippling of the seal.

They told me 'we never get that problem, we can't understand why it's done that', to which I replied type 'Autoglass windscreen problem' into Google and see how many results it gives.

After that they caved in and agreed to go back out and change it all again, it strikes me though if I just accepted it like some would then how many jobs do they mess up and never hear back from the owner?

Big thanks to Ryan for helping me to spend my hard earned again...

I was seriously contemplating changing the radiator, it hasn't failed but as it's getting on for 9 years old then it's probably prudent to change it before a core failure as on the Spec C it cools the engine coolant plus the transmission oil as well.

So the end result is that I am having a new engine coolant radiator/transmission oil cooler combo made by AH Fabrications in Hereford.

They manufactured the radiators and intercoolers for the new RCM Gobstopper plus lots of other big power cars out there, they really make bespoke motorsport products and are undoubtedly the best at what they do.

http://www.ahfabrications.com/

So as a certain individual said to me 'it would be nice to see some trick shit on your car'.

I know it will look like the dogs danglies having seen the FMIC/radiator combo they manufactured for Ryan's car.

I've ordered a few more essentials today:

5 litres of Millers CRX Nanotech 75W90 gearbox and front diff oil
2 litres of Motul PA90 rear diff LSD oil
4 x NGK BKR8EIX spark plugs

The spark plugs were a real bargain, I almost felt guilty for buying them.

Small fortune? That passed a little while back, now we are talking Bank, Post Office or security van jobs now.

And I keep on telling you Shaun I am not interested, even your offer to wear your Monster Energy pyjama's couldn't even convert me to bat for the home team.

I can't wait to see the results of the radiator/cooler combo being made by AH Fabrications plus all the other goodies when it all comes together.

I think they will need re-gapping to either 0.60 or 0.65mm but I bought them for £22 for a set of 4, they are heat rated 8 and have good reports about them.

The service life is believe it or not expected to be up to 30,000 kms but the plugs (with me anyway) usually don't even get to 10,000 kms so it was a bit of a no brainer.

I am not saying they are as good as the NGK Racing series plugs but they are a 1/6th of the price, or you could also try Denso IK24 spark plugs which also get good reviews.

Realistically it should be down in Enginetuner early next month, so after that really and just in time for the upcoming shows.

Is that a Spec-C windscreen they supplied or just the UK equivalent with a box in bottom corner to display the VIN...?

If I'm honest I didn't check as the rippling on the seal took all my attention.

I did inform them that it was a JDM STi Spec C and it had lightweight glass and gave them the VIN and they informed me that the glass would be 100% correct for the car.

If I do have the wrong screen fitted then they will certainly get to know about it.

When autoglass come back out see if you can swipe yourself some glass cleaning products. I've always found them quite generous if you ask nicely, as of the issues you've had they should be even more so. If you kick up a bit of fuss sometimes they will waive the excess!

They will both fit Ty but like i said the UK one has a box where the vin plate is visible through the glass at the passenger side bottom near the scuttle panel, Yours wont have this plate there like mine hasnt so you see a little empty box at the bottom of the screen, The Spec-C one doesnt have this box as they dont have vin plates, I assume you gave them the chassis code rather than vin?

Ahh, Edited to add, The Spec-C one will have to be ordered from Japan at a cost of approx £1000 and a few weeks delivery time, Which one do you think they supplied, The only reason i know this is because the previous owner of mine with his limited knowledge believed Auto windscreens.

Just giving you the heads up incase they insist it is the correct one, BTW it has a different part number too

I'd just be happy with them getting the right screen and fitting it and the seal properly, but once that's done I will be getting onto my insurer and Autoglass customer services.

Thanks Gaz, I gave them the chassis number GDB-****** which confused them as it wasn't the standard 17 digit format.

If they have fitted the wrong screen then they can change it again, I checked with my insurer and they will replace like for like so I should have the correct screen fitted.

I informed them about the Spec C lightweight glass and they assured me they'd get it right so if it's not then they're liable as they can replay my calls and listen to all the information I've given them.

As it turns out Gaz was correct they had fitted a UK screen as Ryan sent me a pic of the VIN inspection point, and so after a call to Autoglass in Worcester they have now cancelled today's appointment.

They are now trying to source the correct screen despite telling me that once they had the VIN number that would ensure the correct glass was fitted.

They tried to fob me off by saying that all UK cars had to have the VIN inspection point in the glass, their argument fell on it's knees when I pointed out that my car is a JDM model and how if they replayed my intial call to the call centre that I did in fact give them all the necessary information including the fact that the screen had no VIN inspection point plus it had a special lightweight screen fitted.

What a bunch of sherman tankers.
