I'm sure it would find the top speed no problem, it's not going to need much of a straight to do that either I'd imagine. What's the top speed rating on the box? 160-170?

With 500hp it does find top speed and it was about 160ish on my 6speed uk spec box

I thought it would be around that. I'm sure a longer final drive would be no issue for the car to see a higher top speed, plenty of power lol

Anyway, Ty, this is a good watch too, 600whp
The sound it amazing

That's some abuse the driver is giving the car - have a look at the boost gauge needle it's bouncing, it doesn't half pull well and spool very quickly.

Okay, perhaps I'd have been better saying he's giving it the beans but the car goes very well indeed.

No traction due to wet roads by the looks of it. how long until your beast is complete? You decided what blower you're going for?

Yes it's an SC50 but with a custom cold side in order to aid spool, along with the methanol I'm hoping for good things.

Okay it won't spool as quickly as the LM400 but it's a trade off with larger turbos in the spool vs power, I'm hoping it's not that far behind but the pay off of the increased mid and top end power will more than compensate for a slight lack of initial spool.

Custom cold side, sounds like good tricks. Who cares about lag man, just drop a gear

Whens the big day

Not sure yet Kas, there's a lot to sort out prior to the mapping but I'm sure the wait will be worth it.

As someone told me on here - if you get lag then you're in the wrong gear.

Won't you be running your anti lag system anyway?

Sounds exciting. You should easily see between 500-550. You thought about running a screamer pipe . Sounds awesome through the Welsh roads

For 99% of the time probably not as it'll destroy the turbo and engine in time, occasional use is fine but I'm not really in a position to change the turbo every 300kms or so like they do on the WRC cars.

But it will sound great when it's engaged as I'm going to have the AL given a more aggressive nature.

No Rob, it's massive just like my third leg.

You would know about small, you're so teeny they thought you were born in Lilliput.

It might well see some track days, also some spirited driving on God's country roads plus it might be making it's third trip to the Nurburgring later this year (the car has been twice before but it will be my first).

It was a good day for goodies, as the ACT clutch and flywheel also arrived plus the new and improved fuel pressure sensor from Tim @ JT Innovations.

Just twenty million other things to sort out (a slight exaggeration but not by much) including waiting for a new Titanium turbo heat blanket and new injector seals to arrive from the USA as they were half the price of even the cheapest UK suppliers.

I really can't wait to get the car back on the road, mapped and ready for the upcoming show season.

Lilliput,,,,, I'm lost??!

It's no wonder you need such a big blower, summits gotta cart that beer belly round and save your legs the strain!!! Lol

Only joking flower well done on your WL programme, carry on as your going and the car will need a couple of rolls of lead in the boot to keep it on the asphalt!

As in Gulliver's travel, the little people of Lilliput?

Yes it is going quite well, I don't think I will float away quite yet though, there is still a fair bit of ballast to get rid of yet.

I've not long got off the phone after having a call from Martyn from Enginetuner, my Simtek ECU is now back from Alcatek after having the firmware updates carried out.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the end result of all the modifications.

There is quite a bit of work to do before it goes for mapping, from what I can remember:

Fit new turbo with titanium heat jacket
FIt new RCM air intake with cold air feed from o/s foglight area
Fit new injectors
Fit new exhaust downpipe and mid section, wrapped in DEI titanium wrap
Fit Toucan and sensors plus FFS clutch pedal switch
Fit LM-1 wideband sensor, gauge
Fit SARD FPR
Alter turbo inlet pipe to no breather take-offs plus remove DV return port, repaint in crinkle red
Alter FMIC pipework to remove DV supply port, repaint in crinkle red
Repaint inlet manifold in crinkle red as looking a bit cruddy
Fit new Hella Supertone horns
Fit air conditioning back into car which will mean re-locating the oil cooler

I think that is about it, plus of course getting the car down to Plymouth to be mapped.

[edit] Nearly forgot there is also small matter of the ACT clutch and flywheel to fit as well.

Cool!

Top 4 can be done in a day,

It's the others that are more complicated with wiring etc I'd imagine, and take more time up.

Your going to have to bring this to the ring.

One of my friends is in the middle of his Evo 7 being built.
a safe 450hp, then once he's decided on a turbo, his engine is capable of running 650+

He should be joining the 'ring trip
