Many many thanks all for your kind words. Just back from the NEC. Knackered. Was overwhelmed by the comments the car received. I even met the very first owner of it on Friday who cried when he sat in it. Told some fantastic stories of it and a lovely piece of history. Met a couple from here also and was lovely to talk to you.

That would have been a fantastic experience for him to see their old car on show like that, great restoration by you and thanks for showing it in here

On Friday at the NEC the original owner of my MK1 RS2000 visited the show with his son. They were looking over the car then realised it was their old car when they saw the registration. I spoke to them for about an hour. They told me some wonderful stories about the car & it's history. His son also learned to drive in it.
He told me the car was only ever used on weekends and was never driven above 70mph. The only modification he made to the car was to fit a full Janspeed manifold & system. He still has the original exhaust at home. The rear window sticker which I was going to replace, was his & his brothers garage and he was overwhelmed to see it still in place.
The registration is his initials which is pure coincidental. I let him look over the car and he confirmed everything is still there. It was wonderful to meet him & his son. I felt completely humbled.
A few pics.
