The "knack" is to set this optimally for the various conditions..
Cheers Shaun yes this. Seems good on the 320 map but ProR really richened up the MAP as a safety net on the 340 and just increased boost set point. Rather than a proper Remap. but that what @@@@@@@ it up IMHO. But during the slightly lower temp went even richer and car was driving with the choke on

Cheers Rob to to lay man your response was good but bear in mind Shaun is a "master" tuner and understands way more than us mere mortals LOL

Hardly .... I have just taken elements on board during the plethora of work that has been done to my Subaru's over the years. However, this is what this forum and community is all about. Sharing experiences and knowledge gained.

It had one carefulish owner, obviously it never had full death given to it ......... Well only occasionally and that was normally started off by some dodgey red thing egging me on
The cossie is good feels very strong. I'm just that busy at work I haven't had chance to run it in yet.
How's the purple car going Steve?

Dude get out in the cossie and get that run in period done, we can sort a meet up and pop them both on the rollers and see how they get on

The cars coming along nicely kev, getting used to it bit by bit. Power delivery is completely different and is more progressive then previous modded cars. Got two more mods to fit to the exterior and it's almost finished for now then time to start in the cabin. Will pop some pictures and full spec up when its done.

Let me know when the run in is complete and wil sort a rr day at tdr or surrey rr

Cheers

Ok cossie is run in and ready to play I think we should wait until Tony has revealed his master plan and what he's doing with his so we can all cry or laugh together.

I've always dithering I'm back in the uk next week

Start with getting new brakes on and then the shi1te suspense sorted: by crossroads is still no better then go back to AST,s

Then sort out the gas guzzling thing under the bonnet if subaru UK can't i,ll do it myself

To be perfectly honest, I'd look else where - i.e. do your own thing.
Unless you've a long time still to go on your warranty with I.M (which isn't that great in the first place)

Not just reflecting on what's been written above but I have heard some mutterings that the 340R map is not as great as it should be.

For £1700 I'd see what someone like Powerstation or Litchfield could do for you.

Ask around, there are some very able and highly respected people you can go to for a better job.

Funny enough I was toying with the same idea as I thought my cars health might be suffer with a poor map.

But I was

A) Concerned about losing warranty
B) Miffed about paying for something that's not up to scratch

Any way good it wasn't done. Mines started drinking oil.

Dont waste money on the 340r upgrade,i had the same thought as Tony regarding the warranty.Thats the reason i went for it.
It's not the best ,power is just ok,the backboxes are shocking,i'm on my second set and the new ones dont sound the best.
I wish i had it done via reputed mappers along with other mods.
So in short VERY DISSAPOINTED

Yes not happy with mine,

KEV1 with the black saloon got his remapped by ProR and was much better I was hoping to get the same remap done to mine but the mapper no longer works for ProR so nobody seems interested in fixing it

Nope

last 5tanks fuel so approx 1200 miles used 0.1L

I think seems to have started when I found the outlet pipe off the Airbox being partially off. I had filled up petrol tank and checked oil 100 miles earlier and not noticed it off

I took car to dealer for jobs and other check hoses etc 200 miles later

THey checked oil and put 1.0L oil in so approx 290 miles since last check I said I'll monitor it every 100 miles ish rather than every tank fill up.

So drove it home and checked again 70 miles 0.5L

Tank fuel done 38 miles added 0.3L.

So 1.8ltr in 400 miles so not looking good.

I reckon must have been sucking air in bypassing MAF (mounted on top of Airbox) therefore ran lean. More worrying is why the check engine light didn't come on???

TBH yep reads bad but at that rate i should see blue smoke in the mirror and i don't

The last 50 miles and used very little to none but cars not gone over 30mph in last 80 miles

So as long as i don't go over 1,500 rpm all should be good

maybe time to get a deisel, least burning oil does it good LOL

If you're getting blow-by then little to no use of boost won't see as much oil usage. Give it a spirited drive on boost and see how much you lose then. I'll put money on cracked ringlands.
