might be worth popping the intercooler off Tony & seeing how much oil is contained inside it, usually fills these up with a fractured piston. Mine did that on the std engine although 5ltrs of oil in 128 miles takes some beating lol

I took car to dealer for jobs and other check hoses etc 200 miles later

THey checked oil and put 1.0L oil in so approx 290 miles since last check I said I'll monitor it every 100 miles ish rather than every tank fill up.

So drove it home and checked again 70 miles 0.5L

Tank fuel done 38 miles added 0.3L.

So 1.8ltr in 400 miles so not looking good.

I reckon must have been sucking air in bypassing MAF (mounted on top of Airbox) therefore ran lean. More worrying is why the check engine light didn't come on???

Yes not that bad but worrying. it will go to dealer for checking. I always check oil every top up unless during a long journey then at end of run so hence the 290 mile between last check and dealer checking it

Steve I've had a few issues my the 340r pack was like Kevin's MW made it better but who'll sort out mine. And now burning oil. I'm thinking "Unfit for purpose" and returning it

I'm not throwing any more good money on bad

I'm a bit pee'd off really so not keen on spend £5k before the warranty is up. This was really my plan for next year.

This why I spent the money on 340r pack sticking with UK warranty.

Other wise I would cossie it up from day one.

I'm thinking about options either bunging it back as a lemon or unfit for purpose

You know how pissed I was with mine and the time length it took IM to say " ok we will send someone to a rolling road with you and compare our car against yours" and you know what the outcome was! It was a good moment when that happened and seeing the face .

Yes... That could cause it to run lean.

As long as it gets covered under warranty alls good.

They have found nothing wrong with the oil consumption, but to be fair there was no sign of the engine burning it. By visual or by tests they did. Very strange as no signs of leak either

The Metatsat was and about time too, changed to a Sorpiontrack

https://fleet.scorpiontrack.com/

Very good system IMHO Although there is no user SMS commands like metsat.

the tracking and logging works great. You can create a a zone If the car moves out of it will text you. Say a airpot carpark. There is also an overspeed alarm user can preset if a car is in a garage. Etc

Well that's a relief. Glad you're enjoying the car in the way it was intended to be!

It would appear that the 2011+ MY cars are less prone to the old exploding engine problem.
