Great work going on there, just make sure Ryan doesn't get KFC crumbs in your paint
I think i may have to bite the bullet and remove the engine just to get the engine bay straight

Nothing yet Martin, car is still with Ryan waiting for him to get on it, I know he has a massive backlog at the moment, and to be honest if it takes a few extra weeks that is not an issue for me.
I have recently bought some extra gauges, an EGT and water temp gauge, just waiting for them to land from the states.
Just trying to work out the order in which to buy everything I need which can be difficult at times as the list is still quite long but I'm happy to say I'm getting there, with a bit of luck the engine will be landing by the end of this month, depending on when the painting is completed

Been collecting some more parts, big purchase in the way of a 6 speed gearbox setup. got a good deal on a uk dccd box from a WR1, complete with rear diff, prop shaft, hubs etc, also comes with a neetronics dccd controller which kind of sealed the deal for me
So my 5 speed wrx box is up for sale, covered 63k with no whines and runs lovely, looking for £350, still in car at the moment which is at Ryans pad.
Few other bits have aerrived, the prosport egt and water temp gauges from the states, bonnet dampers and lots of cables from Tim at JTInnovations
Picking box up next week, then looking forward to getting car back.

Yeah me too Martin! Lol. I have driven an sti before with a uk 6 speed and didn't love it, but it was a short drive on a short track so didn't have long enough to test it properly, i'm sure it will be ok and the dccd should be fun

So we finally got round to rolling Iain's shell over into the workshop to start the planned work,we set about pulling off the bonnet and started the clean down of the engine bay with degreaser to get rid of the all the wax oil and greasy deposits to make for a good job.
To be fair the engine bay looks great being cleaned throughly so once painted it will look great!
Also prepared the underside of the bonnet for paint so it all matchs up well.
The roof spoiler ends will also get painted in this run as they are body coloured, the boonet hinges have been removed to paint them also.
Just a few more holes to take care of masking wise and painting will comence.
Most of the smaller holes/threaded holes have been taped over with a special foiled based tape which is over paintable without issues,Iain's engine man will then just poke a hole through any he needs to put things into or bolt into.
Here's how she stands now.
