Also got a rear window spoiler (been very spoilt) buit wont get round to fitting that for a little while.

Little story about the battery clamp, was a present from mother-in-law, when she got the reminder from the royal mail through the letter box she rang a friend to take her to the sorting office "I've got Iain something for this car and I wont be able to bring it back on the bus" she was very suprised when they handed her an envelope!!!!

Little update, couple of new bits have arrived, Prosport EVO digital 3 bar boost gauge, and a tegiwa brake stopper

Also quite exciting, I have started to put the feelers out to sell my current engine, not in a major rush but would like to get a buyer sorted over the next 6-8 weeks would fit in well with my plans I think.

Hi everyone, bit more of an update and things are beginning to get a bit exciting now ..... just taken a deposit on my current engine, insurance runs out next Tuesday so I have decided to take the car off the road this weekend, Saturday it is going to Tileys in Bristol where the engine will be removed and the bay stripped, before it goes off to Ryan to make things look shiny, then it will be back to tileys and the new motor will be dropped in etc.

Still a long way to go but we're getting closer bit by bit

Really enoyed that read from the start - great to see someone who like me has started with a WRX and slowly but surely improving/changing all core components.

I'm a little behind you in terms of block etc - have got the car to around the 350bhp mark (running k-sports, have perrin front mount etc etc so have brought some things with further upgrade in mind) and now would like more, but funds are the killer for the new block, turbo, fuel, and gear box at the mo (have moved house and we've had a baby girl in last 6months)...so it's a little on hold and I'll be honest have been unsure whether or not to continue, but like you not wanted to give up because not just me that's invested in the car - missus and family have done so also.

So cheers for the inspiration and I hope it goes as well as it can do with little or no teething probs. Will be keeping an eye on this build so please keep posting the updates.....

Right!....may head home from work now, get it out of the garage and give it a clean and wax... ha ha

Hi there, thanks for that, really appreciate the comment. Sounds like you have had a lot going on recently and unfortunately other things keep coming up that get in the way of our car projects! Keep going and eventually you'll get where you want to be, it doesn't matter if it takes ages, big builds dont happen overnight, I have had to tell myself that a lot in recent months......

Best of luck with your plans

Dropped the car off this morning, that's it then here we go! Engine coming out end of this week, cant believe it's finally happening, I've owned the car 5 years as of the 17th Feb, was even checking my old emails recently and found emails between me and Bob Rawle at the end of 2009 asking about engine builders etc ....

Anyhow, this is the last time my engine bay is going to look like this;

Came home after dropping the car off to find these have arrived;

Some more pics now, don't think Dave would be happy if I said I had changed my mind now

Frayz Engineering wing box/cold air feed

Car and other bits and pieces will be making the trip up to see Ryan (Prodrive Rules) next weekend so he can paint a few bits and bobs and generally make things look shiny under the bonnet

Couple of pics from Saturday, got the car up to Ryans, was my first time towing and luckily all went fine, the 23 year old landcruiser did its job well lol.

All unloaded at Ryans paintshop

Also got some super sexy RCM fuel rails too
