50mm is a lot of play IMO, well it sounds like it.,
Hope you can get it sorted, and provide some definitive proof. Knowing Subaru, what works on your car won't work on another one though.

Your car just looks like a weapon with how it's setup and that front mount!
The engine though, that looks like someone has put a lot of effort into it! It's almost a shame it's going to get covered up.
I think Martyn said it was going to have AVCS heads, I'm interested to see how much of an effect that has?

I don't think so.

Enginetuner have really done a cracking job with the engine, it looks absolutely fantastic... Yes mate in the end we went with AVCS heads and lairy cams, There was talk of an 8.5k rev limit, maybe a little bit more, but ill have to have a chat with Martyn about it when we map it!
The way it picks up and revs out with the new manifolds on the last lump etc means it sound be amazing with the AVCS....

ECU holding up play Waiting for the alcatek upgrade and hybrid ECU to suit the V5 stepper IACV with V3 wiring loom and AVCS!
Bit more progress, parallel fuel lines put in, intake pipework sorted and done black, intercooler pipework to suit the new "regular" manifold done black. Breather set up nearing completion, etc!

Went in and paid for the PAS pipes this afternoon, so they will be all fitted and sorted by the end of the week.
Heard the car running and it sounds really good, not slappy at all! Small leak from the IACV to sort but should just be a case of removing cleaning and reseating!
Does anyone know what the most powerful standard position turbo impreza is so far? I think MartynJ holds the record at 558ish hp?

Refurbed the rear brake discs this morning for my 5x114 conversion....
Thought they were fecked to be honest as they were rusty as hell, but they have came up nice.... Couple of coats of red oxide primer and now a couple of coats of hammerite (black) to go on....
Got the LSF hub wire brushed and primered too.
RSF is looking like its in worse condition, so that can wait until tomorrow, the neighbours might get fed up with the grinder going all day lol!
How do the rears come apart? Cant figure out how to remove the handbrake assembly so I can split the hub and wheel bearing!

Springs and a couple of spring/pin things hold the hand brake assy place.
Take a pic before you start taking it apart, but there's 2 springs next to each other, forget if it's top or bottom sorry, but, take those off and it'll fall apart a bit.
On each shoe, there is a pin/spring/cup combo, you need to remove that also. Needle nose pliers to grip push and twist the cup and the pin comes out from the rear of the hub.

Yes mate, alkatek, It went away for upgrading to take the "frankenstein" engine that Alan spent many hours cursing over building! I am running many different parts from different versions to make my V3 STi take a V5 inlet manifold, with a V8 AVCS heads, and a few other bits.
It took far longer than it should have, I was not impressed with the turn around times at all, it went off at the end of august/beginning september and only came back 2 weeks ago. None of it ET's fault, obviously when it is sent off it is out of their hands!
No amount of chasing or hassle seemed to help, I dread to think how long it would have taken if I didnt keep chasing Alan to get on to the ECU guy to get it done! I couldnt say where it went though, back to alcatek I assume
