Yeah my 5 speed broke!

I should put up my project on my RB5, I may do it when I get a few mins. I'm not sure what my car is going to sound like when the VF37 I've got gets fitted in the next month? I know I will lose the boxer sound with the twin-scroll manifold.

Its a Killer B Motorsport manifold with a japspeed 3" exhaust system and custom downpipe. it sounds brilliant in my opinion!

As near as makes no difference 517 on "low boost" its just a meth and non meth map I just always call it low boost lol

Can you feel a difference without the spoiler? Does it effect your times as I read it only comes into play at 100mph?

Cams wise probably 280s, will you have any oil flow issues revving that high? Just that most high revving turbo engines are on a dry sump setup not a wet sump

Interesting Banny.... Never considered that, alan didn't mention anything when we spoke about it?

If it is avcs heads I doubt I'll be able to afford cams too to be honest..... So with the avcs it will be jdm big port heads 1mm oversized valves and valve train.

If I stay with my v3 sti heads then I will go 280 cams and under bucket shims etc

Just need to source some good heads now

Thanks mate, appreciate the heads up, think ive sourced a good set so fingers crossed!

Ordered my V5 inlet, TPS, IACV, Throttle Body etc today from Scott@Scoobyspares. That should be here tomorrow and stripped ready for de-lugging and paint etc.

Also ordered a newage crank pulley so we can get it mapped nicely when finished.

Alyn@ASP is on the case for a set of 20mm Tufnol inlet manifold spacers to suit my V5 manifold, Martyn recommended just a billet aluminium set, but I would ideally like to thermal resistant properties of the tufnol.

Left to order -

AVCS conversion loom
V3-V5 TPS Conversion loom
Alcatek Upgrade to suit AVCS
Upgraded ignition leads for V5 coil

Alan@ET confirmed that my engine is in the machine shop and has been started, so things are making progress. Engine is going to be all black (Heads and block) with Zinc plated nuts bolts and brackets etc. Going to get all my pipework, manifolds etc all powdercoated black too....

Was it just your little end bearing or was it anything more wrong with your motor? Sounds awesome

It was cracked pistons in the end.

The wrist pin has flexed and allowed slight movement in the piston and has cracked all around the bottom skirts!

AVCS heads should be at engine tuner on monday, I dropped off my V5 inlet and newage crank pulley this morning.

Inlet manifold spacers are ordered from AS performance and the alcatek is been sent off for update to run the AVCS on monday, we are getting somewhere now....1

Building up too an awesome engine by the sounds of it. What turbo you thinking of using? Gt35? Rotated? A friend has just fitted avcs heads and a gt35 to a 2.1 and it is an absolute monster. Am I rite in saying the avcs helps with the reducing the lag on spool up? Good luck pal

Yeah you are correct they help sool up and produce more torque low down along with been able to hold on to the power for longer up top

As you can see from the graphs on my latest map we are holding power all the way to the red line now as it is, but can't rev aas high due to shims ontop of the buckets that don't like big revs!

So with the new engine set up we are looking for quick spool more torque and more revs!

Sticking with my s206 turbo, its a brilliant unit and punching well above its weight. Its only rated for 500hp, and we are doing 520hp on pump fuel with standard heads.... Estimated at 560+ on the meth map, we never dynoedd it on the methanol.

Butit has the advantage that it still spools very fast compared to a gt35... I have kind of set a goal to have the fastest/most powerful s206 powered car out there, if I can see near 600hp out of it I will be happy, and if with the avcs and over sized valves we can acheive that I will be over the moon.

If not I can cheat and get an e85 map p
