While that makes a great story, that's not why he went. He went because he is accusing the police officer concerned of a) lying, and b) falsifying an official report. More importantly, the government still has to try to force Windsor II through in the face of police hostility, so now is not the right time to start the fight. Once that battle begins, Mitchell will probably come back - on the attack team.
