Sheldon listen to comment from the internet. The new iphone will be fooked in a matter of days unless it is covered in a a great big rubber case. apple, in trying to shave weight used aluminium, no one in their right mind would use ally, it is too soft and shows blemishes almost instantly if used.
Given apple products are more about fashion then substance, and it wont do to see a scratch dented phone. There are going to be huge queues at apple stores, not for getting the new phone but swapping it for another new one every few weeks
Even the slave workers at Foxconn are revolting at the sh!te build quality

One Apple forums user claims that they were told by an Apple customer service representative that this was “a widespread issue.”

Exactly and Nokia have been producing Aluminium bodied phones for years, some of the toughest available.
Maybe I should start a fuss about my Macbook, my watch strap has marked the case, Apple *******s didn't tell me that could happen.
Anyhow, take a look at the drop tests, I'll take a scuffed case over a destroyed phone that takes 3 weeks to replace.

So after a wekeend with my iPhone 5 I can confirm its an absolutely stunning phone. Scratch gate is ridiculous. Some idiots are complaining that if they drop their phone, or scratch it, its scratches. Well no ****.
iOS 6 is great. Apple Maps is absolutely rubbish - Unless you live in a major city.

To all the haters, we get that YOU don't like Apple products but several million other people do. So shut up and stop wasting your lives, any issues that there are with the iPhone are not your problem anyway.

Seriously though, some cities (like Derby for example) are still awful.Couple of good improvements that were needed are that you can at last share photos by pressing down on them and choosing how to share (although still no option to do it via bluetooth?), and contact photos coming from facebook.
The awfulness of the satellite image of my house and misplacement of the kebab shop is made up for by the lovely Turn by Turn navigation and incredible 3d cities. And don't forget North Korea is now a place not ignored by Google.

She also mentioned that it is a widespread issue, so it looks like Apple is starting to get the point
So hardly from some bloke on a forum now is it.
No. But then I don't do that with my phone either. Never have done. If I was going to do that I would buy a case for it.
Its a pretty simple choice. If I decide I don't mind the odd little scratch over a phones life, I don;t bother with a case. If I decide I want it to be pristine forever, I do.
To expect something to be utterly pristine if you drop it or sratch it with keys or coins is a bit silly.
Well, yes, it is. It is some guy reporting a supposed conversation with an apple service rep. In no way shape or form could this ever be construed as an official statement.

SHE! Being the fruit vendor employee.

Entire cities though, that's just poor and needs to be improved on quickly.
Key's would quite likely be OK. Obviously a knife to the edge of any material will leave a mark, but you probably don't slice the corner of your phone with a knife in your pocket.

Why can you Apple fans never accept that just maybe there is a problem with your beloved lord and master and not everybody is out to get you?
Why does it have to be a "supposed conversation?" Why can it not be an actual conversation that really happened? Are you saying this guy is lying and has made it all up?

OK, OK, they said they'd send out Galaxy Tabs, I just didn't want to admit it. Do you see how ridiculous you and Jon are being, believing and propagating misinformation that's reported by the media is one thing, they get paid to make you believe that ****, taking forum statements as fact is a different deal.

keep it up, the world has seen what apple has said, the world has seen Apple maps and seen how bad they are, and you deny both... you need help
