Was going to do my car tonight but have decided to wait until Saturday. Managed to source a standard flywheel so the plan is to fit that along with a different gearbox.

If you get your car done before Saturday let me know how you get on chap.

Cheers.

Cheers Stu

Got some sad news from my car. Recieved a message from my Subaru dealer yesterday. Due to the German holiday on the 3rd they got a bit behind with their schedule and had to postpone my appointment to tuesday next week (9th) 11am... Dammit... Free weekend and no fun with my car...

Well I'm just about to give up with my car, I've had enough. Seriously considering breaking the car for spares as I'm so pi55ed off with it.

Today I removed the box and light weight flywheel. Inspected the clutch and noticed that it just didn't look quite right, almost like it was wearing unevenly. Didn't have another clutch so had to stick with it. Fitted a standard flywheel and a new box. For some reason it was a real ******, just couldn't get the box to fit. Add in a downpipe bolt snapping in the turbo and speedo cable rounding off in the box and I've had enough.

Managed to get it all in and back together so jumped in for a drive. Before I even got out o the yard I knew we had problems. Pulling away its juddering like hell and really struggling. Didn't even get to drive it far enough to see if the vibration has gone.

Absolutely ****ed off with it now, gonna sit down with a beer now and decide the cars future.

Just been one of those days, whatever could go wrong did go wrong.

Can't understand why it's juddering like **** now but it wasn't before.

It will be juddering because your friction plate was worn into your flywheel you took off and not the standard one you replaced it with Matt,it will require driving to bed it into the flywheel mate
Try slipping it on purpose to burn some material and bed it in quicker

Oh really, might not be as bad as first thought then. Have just been pricing up new clutch, pressure plate and flywheel.

That's the obvious answer Matt to put it right 100% without hassle but I would think a bit of aggressive driving will bed it in just fine

Legend Ryan, just been out in the car for a good hard drive and its all good. I even prefer the way the car feels with standard flywheel on and better still the vibration on overrun has gone

So the flywheel change on itself fixed it all? Great to hear that.
I really felt sorry for you, when I read the reply notification mail in my inbox. All the troubles you had refitting your flywheel... Didn't have the chance to reply here since I wasn't at home.
Had those juddering issues too, when I got my new clutch. Also went away, after letting it slip on purpose for a few times.
Thanks for posting all your results!

Yep, fitting that box and flywheel really tested me, was a complete nightmare.
All sorted now though and unwanted noises have gone.

I'm not certain if the flywheel change sorted it or the box as I changed both.

Got my car back yesterday... Flywheel changed to the genuine one I had in before. The rattling got a bit quieter but that's about it. Not the result I was hoping for

Really gutted for you buddy, hoped your car would of been sorted.
We changed my box and flywheel and the noise went away so can't say which part was actually causing it.
