Some Improvements On My Spec C
#276
It's not too bad a job really I helped or hindered with the removal of the old centre console and it wasn't too bad, in fact the worst thing was finding all the various retaining screws.
The centre console isn't unique to a Spec C - this one has just been painted in a matt black, if you are going to look at doing this conversion on a WRX try to get the setup from a later WRX due to the gearstick gaitor being different between WRX's and STi's.

It's had both front wings, bonnet, boot, bumper, nsr quarter painted with some 'blending' into other panels.
Ryan has then cut back the lacquer and then polished the existing paintwork up to bring it to a very close match, I saw the car yesterday and I couldn't tell which panels has been painted.

You'll have me blushing Ty,cheers mate and yes if I'm not happy then it will be worked upon until I am regardless of what anyone else thinks!
Must admit the car is looking very nice indeed and once again like I said to Ty I will be a jealous man when she leaves wishing it was mine ready to roll

I don't think there is a car of the show or anything similar at Rally Day, like they have at PCAD or I would be sorely tempted to enter the car as I am that pleased with it.

Final Bits And Pieces
Front bumper and headlamps refitted.
Bumper refitted along with the Zunsport lower grille
My private plate is now on my car after it was previously on my Pug 206, I just need to sort out a slightly lower profile plate next.
Some before and after shots of the headlamps, Ryan has machine polished the tarnish out. I am sure that he can explain the process but all I know is they look like new.

Something That Didn't Go To Plan
As some of you may well know I bought a set of BBS 17" forged wheels from VC in order to get them refurbished and as a second set of wheels for my car.
Unfortunately it became evident today that they will not clear the front AP Racing calipers, having done some online research the only way that they will fit is to 'skim' some material off the caliper body and I am not prepared to do that.
Anyway they will be up for sale soon having been refurbished in the correct colour and sporting Goodyear Efficient Grip 225/45/17 tyres, to say I'm cheesed off is an understatement as I had been searching for a set of these for quite some time and they don't come up very often especially with the BBS centre caps.
I will post them up for sale soon in the relevant section.

Some people I think take cleaning their cars just a little bit too far.

Are they the larger 355mm AP`s because i would have thought the 320mm set would fit no problem? I had a simaler problem on my last car with a set of 355mm discs, With the larger calipers i just managed to get them behind a set of 18" PFF7`S with about 2/3mm of clearance
Oh and Ty, Your old Miltek now has a new home

As for the private plate it would be too expensive for a chav to buy, I bought it back in 2006. I bought it at an online DVLA auction, I registered interest in it back in 1998 and they took my details as they would only issue it and sell it at auction when they had enough interest taken the robbing b******s.
But it's pretty unique and as close as I am going to get to my name on my car.
If anyone wants a chat I will be on the South Wales Scooby's stand which is along the straight towards Quarry corner, we are just by the little chicane.

What a shame to put it politely, Great wheels and mine have just had a nice new set of re070`s put on, I take it its the radius of the inside of the rim that wont clear then?

Looks like it's back to the Volks CE28N's, although I think I will be getting them redone in gold in the near future. I suppose I should count my blessings as having the choice between two great sets of wheels.
I hope you enjoy the Milltek it's in very good condition and gives a very nice exhaust note.
