Shaun yours is twin scroll don't they produce more torque? Your always gonna have better spool with twin scroll and avcs heads.
Would you not push yours at that power on a sprint even? Just asking as wondering if to push my jdm engine past the 450 or not.

Im not sure what the correct term is for the pistons used in the JDM engines buddy,as to whether it is safe at that power or not who knows,it was a very low mileage 23k engine when fitted and performed out of the box when mapped.
It has only seen road use so far but i will being doing some 1/4 mile sprints in it shortly as this is something i`ve always wanted to try and i did build the car with this in mind,it certainly wouldnt last long on track and its definitely at the upper limit of safety running 500+bhp.
The car has had every conceivable mod thrown at it to reach this power level and no expense spared along the way,it has the best of everything from oils,filters to mods and tyres,its a god damn money pit for sure.
As for the SC42 it was the original version of this billet turbo which is basicly an SC46 with a slightly smaller exhaust wheel,hence it made the same top end power on a 2.0ltr car but with quicker spool and better torque than the SC46.
My car was the first in the uk to have this turbo fitted so we didnt know how it would behave,kev at the scoobyclinic said if it didnt perform and i wasnt happy with it then i could swap it out for something else free of charge,luckily it did perform and then some,so on she stayed.
The new SC42 has been revamped to give even better spool but less top end power as the old one i have was too close performance wise to the already best selling SC46.
Shaun has imho the best model impreza ever made by subaru to date,in my book nothing made by them is better than a JDM hawkeye,i would love to own a white one myself one day.

My comment was'nt reference to my turbo vs the SC range..... just a statement of fact in response to your question about the JDM bottom end taking this level of power (read torque).
My turbo is twin-entry, which is effectively a single scroll turbo with a twin port entry.... it's not twinscroll. Makes the overall package even more impressive in that light, although I'm still on the proper TS headers and Up-Pipe. The TS headers are awesome imo.
I never made reference to the spool ramp.... just the torque it makes, which is one of your main engine busters.
Running any form of ***** out mode (track, whether public or competition imo & sprints) you're going to do so at the sake of reliability.... even more so on a standard engine and associated risks that go with that.
I know a couple of people who have run 450bhp on the JDM bottom end and smashed the granny out of it for sprint and hard track use...... it doesn't mean I would. For me.. 400/400 would be my cap on my engine for that kind of use.
My engine is also extremely low mileage @ just under 18k..... for christ sakes, even the original clutch is taking the torque without any moans (so far) - although I wouldn't even attempt a standing start in it.
Not had chance to get on SRR dyno yet, but had the car on hub dyno today to check a couple of things over.
Car did 428.9bhp at hubs. What's loss on 6 speed new ages.
Did some airflow and pipe alterations and got 440bhp at the hubs now..Its going up

Is that little bung on your turbo inlet the protective sleeve you get on the end of a new lambda sensor lol i used the one off mine for a similar bung lol

Finally bit the bullet and went for a meth map after resolving a problem with a faulty fuel pump, and replacing a set of blowing headers.
429.3/385 on VPower and 472.9/425 on 20% meth, which I was happy with considering it was 22 degrees in the dyno cell on the day

That reminds I need to amend my position on the leader board to around the mid to high 20's because I'm now running some good power since rebuild and turbo upgrade. Until ive had her dyno'd cant say what power im actually running....but its beautiful now that the engine is fresh

So I recently finished my Ver5 STi RA build and after spending about 8 months, $14k on parts/labor... I am a little more than upset with the final Numbers.
I am running the stock Ver5 Ej207, Rotated Gtx3071r, TiAL .63ar housing, TiAL 44mm EWG, TiAL Q BOV, DW850CC, DW300 pump, 3" Downpipe, 2.25" Rotated Up-Pipe, AEM Methanol Injection(92 pump + meth), Perrin EBCS, Link G4 PnP ecu, Stage 3 CM clutch, 06+ STi 2.5l oil pan, KillerB pickup/baffle...
Maybe a few other parts but that's most of it.
I'm only making 260whp/240wtq on 14psi. Why only 14psi u ask? Well the shop that tuned it was too damn lazy to plumb in my EBCS so I'm running on WG pressure, and to make it even worse, I think they only tuned it for 9psi bcuz that was the only spring they could find to begin with, until I brought them more and told them to make as much psi as possible off spring pressure until I could bring them the EBCS, which ended up being that day, but after they stacked 3 springs to make 14psi, I don't think they put it back on the dyno. I think I'm running on 14psi but still on the initial tune for 9psi.
My car backfires after almost every shift if I push it, and doesn't even make boost until 4800rpms...smh
I should be making around 18-19psi(1.3-1.4bars) @3300-3600rpms & putting down close to 400whp with what I have under the hood, but somehow I managed to get the worst Tune in the world, if you even want to call it a tune. I'm begging someone to come save me from this nightmare!!!

so whats the mileage on these engine that are big power and obv standard?im looking to get mine mapped in a few weeks and looking to crack 500 and im on 97k 434/400 @ 1.55 and still on standard cluth(new clutch to go in).
car is mainy a track car so gets a beating and still lives on.
Will be trying for 1.8 + meth now I have the ecu to unleash the boost.
wanted to get a feel for what mileage peoples engines are on etc.

The shop that tuned my car did a horrible job. They were as lazy as it gets, and i paid them Top $$$$ to work on my Baby. IDK if its just the lack of Boost, or Poor tune, Or Both. What i am sure of is that its running Extra Rich. AFRs are around 11.1 i think. They also bent my Fuel Float when installing my Pump, so im not getting an accurate Fuel Reading.

My Scoob was mapped on Tesco 99 only (no meth)

You can't see the engine revs along the bottom or the torque, what did she make I'd be very interested to see as that's a great result - you also have some very nice kit installed - bet that cost you a fair whack

I am absolutely made up with the results and although i have not done all the work to it i have put in just under £5K over the past few months.
Im not entirely sure what the equivalent turbo is.
RCM have started using Precision Turbo's on both Gobstopper 1 & 2 with a twisted setup.
They have used my car as a bit of a test dummies to see what sort of figures can be ached with it in the standard position before they start stocking them.
My car was the first to have this turbo on from RCM and i don not know of another in the UK, that doesn't mean there art any but mine maybe the first
They have now said that they will use my figures as a bench mark.
The torque wasn't huge to be fair just over 420ft-lb but can't complain really.

Sounds like it's on a par with the MD321V or thereabouts, stock position turbo.
As said, I'd be interested to see the bhp / ft/lbs graph as this normally gives a good indication of how well the car is performing, and I can't see RPM on your graph below either so the headline figure on its own, whilst impressive, would be more impressive combined with that information
If you do have the graph please do photo it and stick it up as this could be a game changer
