You don't need DBW either..... your car is cable.

What are you going to do martin are u go lm420 or lm400.... I take it u have ruled out a SC turbo ?
Prices are on the high end but I suppose you buy cheap you buy twice.. Not ruled an sc out mate no, a think bannys got one on his twinscroll which pulls hard by the vid I seen. I'm swaying towards the lm450 to still have head way for more the 420 does seem more suited to me I'd like to hear from anyone who's used one

ive looked under the bonnet so often and seen the cable but my brain over ruled as its a hawkeye and my last one was dbw.

I can't comment on the SC range or the LM400 or LM450 .. but I like my LM420 (with other upgrades)

I deliberately went that way in order to try to limit the extra strain on the engine, gearbox and clutch etc whilst getting the extra performance .. without there being too much whiplash.

Personally I think it gives my JDM blobeye just about the right amount of power for a day to day driver .. mapped by Bob to 426/392

Sounds really good mate, how does it compare to the standard turbo assuming you upgraded from a 37? Could you also tell us your spec too please.. With me wanting to keep the tmic this could be a great option.. Any graphs?

Night and day between standard VF37 and now ..

Plus ... to help you with your decision .. as it happens .. I did upgrade the turbo, injectors etc whilst still on the top mount and std airbox .... max I got was 395/335 from (poor) memory. Replacing them with a FMIC and BRD/RCM Induction made a massive difference .. especially to torque and mid range overtaking.

Personally, knowing what I know now ... and IF you're wanting to keen to the Top Mount .. I'd suggest going for a 400 turbo to keep the great spooling characteristics. BUT ... you will have to offset the thought of 400 vs what you could have got if you'd have spent a little more money on FMIC and Cone :-) .. just like I wonder about whether I should have gone 450 !!!

Road mapping Graph from Bob Rawle is in post 295 (near the bottom) .. as is the spec :

T20Driver - 426bhp, 391lbft, MY05 2.0 JDM STi, Billet LM420, Hybrid FMIC, BRD Induction, 800cc injectors, 3" Miltek decat, Bob Rawle map, V Power - daily driver

https://www.scoobynet.com/941285-sco...rboard-10.html

Alas am just not using it at the moment - 2k miles since MOT in May .. and so that is a real shame .. so seriously considering selling now to let someone else get the pleasure ... but we'll see .. maybe not !!

Perfect mate and exactly the info I was after

I've been down the fmic route which is why I'd like to keep to the tmic, like the standard-ish look I think I'd go for the 420 as I'd be more than Happy with what you got with your tmic.. I'll have a flick through your thread this evening..

If you fancy the 450 we could come to a deal for your 420

Thanks for the info though mate

Martin
