No I don't think so. You can't buy a performance car worrying about mpg.
And you can claim any figures you want really. Any car will give higher figures if driven like a granny.

Agreed.

How many miles do you do a year? (to op)

I only do 5000 miles a year, if that, because I don't need my car to get to work.

I didn't say that MPG was a main deciding factor, but it was a niggling little thing that was another "point" towards the VXR.

I also didn't say that I worry about MPG.

Anyway, I think that pretty much everyone is concerned about the price of fuel these days and how much it costs to fill a tank, regardless of what car you have, whether it be a scooby, or a 80mpg eco car.

Must admitt mate your car looks a stunner and you must be so pleased with it !! to be honest was really keen on buying a vxr a few months ago after finding the scooby just too expnsive to run, but time and time again kept getting told the gearboxes were very weak on them and that 30mpg around town fuel figures was just not going to happen and decided that personal fiances meant it was just not going to happen and one would be not a great deal to run than the other with regards insurance / road tax / fuel etc.

at the time I joined the vxr forum and must admitt found a wealth off info on there with a great, very knowlegable, generally friendly bunch off guys - worth checking out if not already.

Thanks fella Yeah it's a good forum and I've also learnt a lot of stuff off there too.

I know that it's a Vauxhall but hey, VX are banging out pretty good cars these days anyway.
