Seriously. Despite a lot of provocation I've been very patient with him.
Personal insults are one thing, when you get to 60 you just don't care any more, but he appears to be having a sustained attack on my business, and I can't tolerate that when I have ten hard working staff to consider.

If he likes his Impreza, I'd suggest he doesn't post any more, in fact he'd be better off thinking about deleting what he's said very quickly, before he has to sell it to pay the legal bills.

I have more than enough posted on here by him to take out a claim for libel against him and I have the resources to do so. I think I can also count on several hundred people who would concur with my version of events and the potential for material damage caused. I'd leave it to my solicitor to determine the amount of the claim.

I have no objection to fair comment, but second hand gossip is no reason to commit libel on a grand scale.

Latest..

I've just got off the 'phone to Craig, who sold him the Impreza in the first place.
He told me he had no trouble with the car, apart from a very minor tweak which Martyn dealt with while he waited.
He's calling me later with JME-RST's full name and address, which I will pass on to my solicitor for action if he persists in libelling my business.

This is the car in question.

As far as I know it was running fine when we saw it last, and the owner at the time was quite happy with it.

Oh dear,
Things aren't getting better.
So now the owner is saying the work you did was fine, so what's the issue since jme's ownership?.
Alan, would you still consider working on this chaps scion to see this reach a final conclusion?

Never used ET, and have just been reading as a form of amusement at lunch at work.

MR May? He says a guy called Craig..?

And i'm sure if your "friend" gets served with a law case, then he'll pretty quickly say who you are. Else the DVLA will have the details

I'm giving this chap plenty of opportunity to just back off and get on with his life without any further action from me.
A deletion of his contentious posts would do nicely, with no further word.
He seems to think he can hide in plain view, much like an Ostrich in fact.
Well, think on chap, before you find yourself plucked and stuffed.

Any Scoobynetters are welcome to call me, Alan Jeffery, on 01752 345880 in case our reluctant witness shows up anywhere, like cruises, shows, drive outs, that kind of thing. Failing that of course, proceedings could begin on the basis that DVLA will pass on the information in the event of lawful litigation.

These are further pictures of his car, in case anybody mistakes him for somebody else.

Even if I were only 25.5 years old, I'd be getting the message by now.

Alan, you can please all of the people some of the time, some of the people all the time but never all of the people all of the time.

There was a link to another thread on page 1 or 2 whereby my car was mentioned and you had asked me to call you. Appologies, I never saw that thread (from last year) until today so I'll give you a call later and see if you can turn this customer into a happy one. Now promise, no name calling as you'd look silly sat on the floor with a bloody nose*

*Joke - I'd never hit an (almost) pensioner!

you seemed to have changed your tune alan,

as you have previously stated that this thread was in fact giving you more business and seemed quite appreciative.

you could have had this thread deleted anytime you want...

resorting to posting pictures of my car and asking other members to call you if i am seen at shows etc is a bit ott.

would you agree to disagree on all said subjects? as this thread is clearly going nowhere,we have both had our say and people have made their own minds up..

imo there isnt really anymore to be said

It isn't up to me to interpret the comments you've been making, others can do that. Most on here seem to agree with the stand I'm taking, but it wouldn't be at all difficult to prove that your actions could have had financial consequences for my business. I'd say in Law I am 100% in the right to sue you. I have better things to spend my time on, for example we're building a bike dyno cell to run up superbikes so I've no doubt we'll soon have reports from Ivybridge of excessive noise.

I am not complaining about the thread I started, apart from certain libels you've added to it, which is why I haven't had it removed.
I am complaining very much about the thread started by Wiley, which you invaded in a most unwarranted fashion.
Assuming you pop on there quite soon, and delete your comments, I'll consider the matter closed.

As far as your car is concerned, I am still quite willing to take a look at it, on the basis that we are best placed to deal with any issues you might have, having the map stored for instant access.

I'd take a good long look at yourself, and maybe take on board the notion that because just somebody said something to you, it ain't necessarily so, and sometimes it's better to keep your thoughts to yourself.
Being sat at home on your laptop doesn't mean there aren't consequences.

What about suing the Periodic Table for the chemical reaction that led up to said rust?

As for AJ suing for slander, he wants to thank the OP as he has, in his own words, had the phone ringing off the hook with amongst other things new business!!

In the same breath, I think the OP has made himself look silly, and has probably burnt his bridges on this site now.

The complainant has gone about this all wrong - this should have been kept private until and only if the car could not be rectified by Enginetuner. It's no good slagging a company off and then not even allowing them a chance to rectify the problem or diagnose it.

My hat is doffed to Alan as he has remained calm, professional and far more courteous than 99.99% of us would have been.

I think in this case even bad publicity is good publicity.
