i have done as alan has asked me to do and retracted my comments,he has not asked me for anymore.
i have stated previously in this thread that i actually had nothing to gain by posting the comments, i was not out to get my car fixed for free as many of you clearly think was the case.
i was merely speaking my opinion on a public forum,of which is my right.
agreed, i went the wrong way about it and i should have gone directly to ET voicing my concerns.
i didnt and it is me that has faced the consequence of that action by this thread being created and the backlash of comments that have followed it.
at the end of the day, this is a matter that is between me and alan,to all of you that have jumped on the bandwagon that is so typical of forums, look at your own actions and comments..
in the whole 12 pages of this thread, i reckon there are probably about 10-15 actually useful comments, asking circumstance and reasons why there was a grievence etc.
the rest are just pointless.
there are obviously some pretty sad people on this forum for them to feel the need to hunt me down on internet forums and comment about previous cars i have owned etc and what forums i go on,information which is completely irrelevent to the subject.
yes i am a member of street stylers as its the only forum i know of down here and i am interested to know what other like minded people are driving in my local area.
any future comments about the nature and further outcomes of this thread are between myself and alan, and as far as i am aware this is now over.
so imo everyone else can get fooked as your opinions mean nothing to me

Being fair, the whole point is that it WASN'T just between you and me, considering this is a very public forum. The last time I looked, there were 360,000 subscribers to Scoobynet from all over the world. We do business internationally, so please don't be surprised at my taking offence.
In effect, what you have done is to stand on a soap box in the middle of Wembley Stadium on cup final day then use the PA system to declare that Enginetuner Ltd are liars and cheats and incapable of successfully tuning cars. I'd be more impressed if you actually did that, rather than doing the same thing from the imagined security of your bedroom.
Nobody would be surprised if I sued you if that was the case, but in actual fact, from the legal standpoint, there is no difference whatsoever.
Interestingly, the onus would be on you to prove that what you said was true, rather than me having to disprove your statement. I think you'd fail spectacularly in this case.
Here's my advice to anybody thinking of "having a go" on a forum.
Think twice and type once. Then leave it overnight before sending.
Don't pick on a business, they have more to lose than face, and may well retaliate to your considerable loss.
Get your facts right, and spend time considering that you're never going to have all the facts, only an opinion which could be worth very little.
For anybody who thinks they are having issues with a business;
Firstly contact the "Main Man" every business has one.
State your case clearly and without raising your voice. Be polite, but firm and positive. The greatest threat to any businessman during any discussion is if the person he's talking to knows what they are talking about!
Accept that there are two sides at least to any story.
Compromise is always the best solution. All any businessman wants is happy customers.
And lastly, PM, Email, Text, Fax or better still, Phone.
DON'T post it on a Forum...

There's probably only two ways you could have made yourself look worse after this whole debacle:
1. Not be man enough to apologise to Alan for attempting to ruin his business and admit you were wrong.
2. Come back to the thread and slag everyone else off for having a go at you.
You've just done both. Congratulations.

I have been reading this thread with interest but as others have said, the one thing you haven't done that you need to do is put up a public apology to ET for slinging unwarranted mud at them!
Even Jimmyinrugby had the ***** to apologise publicly when he had done something similar to another tuner. You make other idiots look like heros!
I stand by my previous post. You’re a tool!
Now man up!

If you're quite willing to publicly slander someone you should be brave enough to publicly apologise.
In the real world, mud sticks regardless of blame and your post here, even though its been found pointless, could still cause real financial damage.

I'm going to assume he's young, impulsive and now somewhat embarrassed.
Let he who is without sin huh?
I now know who he is and where he is. I'm not going to take any further action unless it turns out he's a manic depressive who likes trouble!

Is it really that hard to say sorry , even when you have already admitted making one god almighty **** up?
Your actions / posts could have caused a very negative impact on several peoples livelihoods. I get the feeling that your not sorry in the very slightest and still have something against Alan , but because of getting your paperwork muddled have no real ground to keep having a pop at him.
You may have removed the comments as requested , but the damage has already been done and you do not seem in the slightest , interested in putting it right.

I'm not normally one for doing this, but I am locking this thread as it has run it's course now.
JME has started a new thread to apologise to Alan, and ultimately it is up to Alan to accept this and move on, which he seems to have done. People can make mistakes in life and this is one instance of that, he has at least had the decency to come here and admit this, which is more than some people would do.
I could just delete this thread, but to be honest, I think it's best left here but able to drop off. It is a clear case of how 2nd and 3rd party information can lead to problems like this, but more importantly, that they can be resolved and apologies can be made.
