thats good to know, i assume i don't have to produce any paperwork (as im not sure if i have the paperwork!)

No paper work. When the mapper hooks up to the ecu. Everything he needs will be there

I think you need to dig a tad deeper and find out how the opensource solution was indeed born on the Suabru's.

I'm no mapping expert; JGM does all the mapping on mine, but I thought the other attraction to aftermarket solutions like ECUTek was that their tools and the parameters they could set were tested by the company marketing the software so that the chance of failure due to the software was significantly lower than someone using open source equivalents.

Being a software developer, I know that's not necessarily any guarantee as any software's only as good as the person developing it, and the testing team putting it through its paces, but I'm guessing that ECUTek as a company is more than just a bunch of code monkeys like me banging out code.
I'd expect their software to be properly QC'd etc.
