I spoke to Max (the seller) and my questioning was basic at this stage, but I did ask if the ECU has been changed or piggy back re-map. Max said as it has a front mount, it has got have had a ECU modification, whether that is a complete change or a piggy back he didn't know, but from that initial question he gauged that I was being supported by very knowledgeable folk.
He then went on about how many Subaru's he has sold and has experience with, plus how he is well known on this forum etc. He then backed up his statement by giving me an honest run down of the cars issues or positives. Issues are small pin dents x 2 on ft n/s wing and 1 or 2 on the following n/s door, but nothing horrendous, he did suggest "If you wanted perfect body panels then the front wing might need changing or he could try and “pull” the dent out". He said there is strong pull from the engine with no lag with the turbo, no piston slap on cold start up and no knocking from the coil over shocks, which you might expect from coil overs. Max did predict the car was pulling 325??bhp to 340bhp but that is just his own opinion only.
With it being 1 owner from new then further investigation is going to be fairly easy I would have thought, right?
