There is a chap called James on the foresterorg selling the pre face lift in crystal grey, sure he is only after 7k for it. its not this one as i have pulled this from google but it looks the same. have been thinking about it myself ;-) leaves [plenty of money for a forged build

And must be in black, (best things come to those who wait)
I waited out a few months to find a mint sl waggon totally standard carefull owner

Don't get me wrong I'm sure the Forester STI is a very capable and refined car but to me it's just a bit too much in your face. My idea of a performance estate is one that looks, for the most part, like a normal estate car but goes like stink. The subtle give aways should be the multiple exhaust pipes, fat tyres, and V10 / AMG / whatever badges
That and it's got too much 4x4 type characteristics going for it, looks big and unweildy, and the tree hugging types will be tutting when you take it on the school run etc.

Only ones that tick the boxes for me are rs6, m5 touring and maybe rs4 but then im thinking about mainenence, service costs, replacing parts and modding etc. and the forester ticks all the boxes for me.
If i spent a few grand on the forester on a rebuild and get it upto 500plus hp and extra handling mods then the other cars have no chance on a track.
It already does 0-60 in 5 seconds and thats standard/stock
Now that sounds good to me.
Yes mate. The facelift started in 2005-2007.
For more info. Pop over to http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f75/
Where we mostly hang out. Some guys are running about 360bhp on standard internals with a few mods!

P.s Black is best...........Not biased of course!! Lol

Contary to popular belief it is also not the actual Lambo V10 under the bonnet either: http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evoc...7/audi_s6.html

What about some lighter older estates which would free up some money for a few mods:
RS2

Original RS4

TX.
Rs6 rs4 and m5
Remember 20k budget is gOing to get you a old car high mileage
And probably abused too
Servicing and parts are going to be wallet emptying and fuel
Well it will want to use a Subaru for every day use

Check out this site,it may give you other options, although the Forrester is a stunning machine as is an RS4 avant-although I've not driven either!

I think it depends how big you want to go and what you will be using it for-kids etc...
I went from a bugeye wagon to an E91 335d Msport and it's plenty big enough for two medium-large dogs.
Ive had it remapped and it's plenty quick enough for real world driving, ticking a lot of boxes for me.
I still miss that scooby sound though!!!

Just like to say a big thanks to everyone that helped me out on this decision
I was going for the rs4 avant at the start and now i maybe been leaned towards the forester sti(facelift v)
Im sure with the change i will have to spend i can get a few subtile mods, suspension, full decat inc uppipe, fuel pump, injectoers. 350plus hp.
Then have the ability to go down to engine tuner for full rebuild (if the missus lets me
) if im satisfied with the car long term.
Once again cheers all you guys & girls
