Feel like a broken record on here saying how boring audis are!
M5 estates a good call!
Have you looked at the range of legacys?
£20k would get you a really tidy twinscroll with enough left over to see it trounce the M5 estate.

Personally if I were in the market for a quick estate car I would be looking at the new skoda vrs but with the above talk off the RS6 / M5 etc then guess this wont be in the " possibles " list ??!!

Have you actually driven one? Serious question, I've driven a few and they're certainly not understeery. It felt flatter and gave more confidence in the bends than my JDM STI with ASTs, ALK and uprated anti roll bars. Okay they may not give you the intimacy of some other cars in the same sector but it's still an impressive machine nonetheless.

Having a similar dilema and concluded the M5 tourer would be the one but I don't have that bigger budget
Maybe an Audi S6 with the 5L V10
Aside from those I'd like something either 5 series / A6 sized, just don't think the 3 series is big enough which is a shame as a 335i tourer fits the bill in all other respects.
Shame they've only recently put that twin turbo engine in the 5 series (535i), only one on Autotrader is over £40k
Haven't really looked into Mercs

The MB offering would probably be the E63 AMG http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3709453.htm
A paltry 525bhp though.
5t.

Careful trooper ... theres a bit of a mindset on here that the impreza is the only car subaru ever made! haha
I do like the newage (1998+) legacy's but i personally prefer the trailing arm suspension found on imps, foresters, and pre 99 legacys.... the wr ltd is definately the holy grail of new age legacys though.
As said before, if i was spending that much cash on a new estate, a fozzy sti with enough cash to see it to 500+bhp would be hard to beat!
They have the brembos, r180 and 6 speed setup ready for a big chunk of engine to drop into it .... realy top notch q-car.

But for a normal good history might be a bit over my money margin.
Forester are they uk spec or imports and whats the prices? I want something fast as a subaru or fasterrrrrrr!
Mercedes i quite like the c class amg but a bit too expensive and too much power for the car to deal with(rubbish handling)
Rs6 i would love but again out of my price range
I want something thats going to be good on a track, fit my dog in and normal family practical car.
Also reliable

Handling is rubbish, tourque is rubbish, i beat it in my waggon at everthing apart from motorway speeds were it slightly pulls away.so no chance

Contary to popular belief it is also not the actual Lambo V10 under the bonnet either: http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evoc...7/audi_s6.html
