Good job the 2 is fecking fast then. I didn't notice any difference in general speed, but then I'm sill incredibly happy with the speed of my 2.

I haven't even unboxed mine yet (i've got a litter of 2 day old Labrador puppies to bring up 24/7) but seen on my ipad1 that real racing 2 has been updated with the full res texture pack and apparently looks amazing.

 

Yes mate. Tried the home share too and it only seems to find the videos not music. iPhone's find everything! Home hub has phones on but iPad doesn't show as being connected even though it is!

Managed to collect mine from the depot. Loving it but having to keep the protective film on it cause my 2 year old son has taken a shine to it all ready.
Need a trendy case urgently, not one of those nasty leather ones though!

 

Nice one mate . I picked up a hard back shell and one of the apple front cover jobbies. We did look as some nice wallets but everything just gets bigger and bigger when you start putting those things on.

 

I ordered one of them wallet things for wen I'm out, but it'll be out in all it's glory at home haha

 

RealRacing2HD is rather impressive, got some other ones to try like Gangstar Rio and then wait for others to release their updates.

Playing Fifa 12 is a massive improvement over ipad1 as that lagged when in front of goal where as this is really smooth.

Anyone recommend other updated HD games/apps?

Well I took mine back to the Apple Store today, comparing it to my wife's ipad 2 last night, her screen was lovely crisp white and mine had a sort of sepia or yellow effect all the way down the left side.

Wasn't sure if I was being paranoid or not so I took it in, it was clear to see when held side by side with a couple of the demo iPads in store the screen was not right, as I ordered it online I bought a new one in store and sending the faulty one back for a refund.

Also bought an AppleTV while I was there, I ordered one online but it said dispatch in a week so I've cancelled it.

Very busy in the Liverpool Apple Store and everyone was buying iPads.

The screen on my new one is amazing but more importantly it's white

Well the wife saved me £2000. Started iTunes in safe mode and it's fine. Mozilla add ons cocking it up as far as we can tell.

Yep, my mother-in-law's iPad arrived today.

She is 75 and it's going to be such a barrel of laughs teaching her how to use it

 

oh my god how frustrating is it putting on a screen protector the size of the iPad, just when you think you've got all the bubbles out....arghhhh
Oh and the tiniest spec of dust always get caught behind it.
Oh well, better than my little boy scratching the screen I guess, what with the smart cover, the screen protector and the clip on back protector I think I've doubled the weight of the bloody thing

I bought the clear plastic one my wife has on her ipad2 but it wouldn't sit properly.

 

I won't ever use a screen protector again, it ruins the display. I had one on my ipad and iphone 4 as soon as I bought them without even trying them out first. My Wife then go an iphone 4 and i looked at her screen and said it looked amazing. The screen protector absolutely ruined mine so took it off and had been missing the great screen for 18 months It also made a big difference to the ipad too. I just use a neoprene cover on the ipad now and a sunglasses sock on the iphone.

 

It's a Belkin clear one, says it's third generation & smart cover compatible and does fit fine. In fact it's not super tight which I thought it would be. Certainly won't be difficult to get it back out of it.

Anon, yeah I've had a crap on on my iPhone before, was absolutely terrible but this one you wouldn't know it was on there (apart from the tell-tale bubbles )

 

yeah, ive gone for the belkin clear back's too. They seem quite good, just not sure how the back of the ipad will look after a year with that on. Bits of junk could get behind over time and start rubbing, who knows.

 

My son has eventually given in and bought himself the new iPad. So, together with the appropriate app, access to Sky Go and his shiny new fibre broadband, this is what he was watching this morning

 

I'm tempted with an ipad2 32gb now after taking my 3 back. There just isn't *that* much of a difference for me and the heat I had off the 3 has put me right off.

The cheapest I can find the 32gb is the Apple Store on the refurb section at £359. Anyone seen better? The ebuyer deal of £299 for the 16gb is an excellent deal but 16gb when you play games on it just isn't enough.
