Ah, we misunderstood each other in that case - I'm only interested in using the ipad for photos when away from home (for reviewing pics from the slr etc) - i.e. the ability to put content (pic files) on the ipad without requiring another device (pc/apple mac/laptop) to do it feels pretty fundamental to me - what use is it otherwise?

Don't listen to the people on here, there's a massive difference between the two. Shell out a little extra and get the latest version with 32gig.

I still don't understand what the issue is here? ipad + sd adpater + DSLR = being able to look at photos you have taken. You don't need anything else, it just works.

That doesn't answer his question jack, he wants to spend £400.

For me I would probably get the new iPad with the 16gig memory.
I have an iPad 2 with 16gig and I find the memory is plenty for me especially if you have a laptop as well.

Should have got an android tablet

My transformer has a micro sd slot and sd so I can expand the memory very easily

Just checked my usage on my iPad and I'm using a total of 3.3gb currently!
I don't have a huge ammount of apps but I do use the ones I have regularly, I find if I don't use them I delete them.

Lots of others on the Apple link I posted say otherwise - as do several friends of mine who have either had the SD card reader not work at all or had it stop working following an Apple software upgrade. Hence my reticence.

The other advantage being there's nothing worth putting on it.

Yes Jack, you are a huge Android user so you would know about exactly what apps are available. Please.

If you want a serious discussion then don't spout crap like this. It just makes you look like a dick.

Anyway, new Samsung tablet this month that will have a better display than even the iPad3. But of course, you knew that.

I find that bizarre. I've had mine a while now so gone through various upgrades and it has always worked without issue. Are they sure they have the official Apple one and not a dodgy identical looking copy bought from a 3rd party?

Obviously because there are no apps on the market place

Suppose I can make do with tons of movies and music all transferred from various sources via usb

I prefer to use apps designed specifically for a tablet rather than just scaled up phone apps. Did you not watch the Keynote?

You crack on with your USB sticks, I like some old school stuff too, my music and documents can live on iCloud if I wish to save space, it's a modern thing that will probably come to Android in a couple of years time like most things.

the link suggests they're reviewing apple products:

http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC531

and the guys I know who've had issues have bought them from the apple stores.

As I say, I'll wander into an apple store with the slr when I get chance and the new one's been out long enough to get reviews and iron out any initial problems.

Take a close look, the bad reviews on the left are from 2010, the right hand side is from this year and is 100% positive.

dunno what planet you are on pal, but if you sort by newest reviews + all ratings there are a crap load of 1 stars.... wtf you on?

Typical apple user, has no idea how to use an interface. If interface not fluffy then the user will fail !

LOL

ps: iphone, ipad and macbook pro user, but broke all my records ages ago, and just get on and use the devices instead of harping on and sounding like a **** (well I do sometimes).

Go to the link and it's as I said, no interface just read what's presented. Perhaps you should stop posting when drunk, you read like an uneducated youth.

out of 143 reviews... from that link, the following results :-

1 star = 48 (14 in 2012)
2 stars = 5
3 stars = 11
4 stars = 22
5 stars = 57 (10 in 2012)

So in 2012 they've had so far, 14 x 1 star reviews, and 10 x 5 star reviews.

Keep your head in the sand chap, you'll grow out of it soon.

You must forgive jack a little bit, obviously he hasn't been taking his lithium as much probably due to the problem that all apple products have sealed batteries.

It tends to let his alter ego Sheldon come to the fore, you know when you come across an individual that is obviously retarded mentally. Just humour him for a moment and then move along, think yourself lucky he is only a keyboard Nutter and not someone carrying a knife in the street

Unfortunately its these sort of replies that make you look like a pretentious ***** and therefore people ignore anything you say.

I have tabloid apps, not just scaled up ones of which you'll have plenty too...
I have cloud storage.

If everything can live on the cloud, why do you need any more space?

That's the best thing to do, go and see for yourself and make your own decision based on what you've tried out. Like I say I have never encountered any issues with it and being such a simple concept I can't understand how people can have trouble with it, not unless there have been faulty batches of the adapter made. Even then you'd just take it back and change it for one that works if there was a problem with it.

Ramdoor, if you dig for **** you'll always find it. What you need to realise is it's rare for people to give praise and common for people to complain. 10% more people gave 5 stars for that product, that's exceptional.

Michaelro, can I direct you to your entry to this thread "should have bought an Android tablet" way to join an Apple related thread my friend. That highlighted you as a ****, and not only for buying what is universally known to be a second class product. What sort of response did you expect exactly. Oh and as for ignoring me, hardly true again, you responded to my reply and you're reading this now.

The irony

You post in any android related thread going with your apple trolling, so that by your description, you must be the biggest **** going, which is universally known

Unlike you I can appreciate other products, but decided they were not for me as I wanted something more customizable.

I read you posts, but discount anything that could actually be useful as you post it in a pretentious manor.

Show me where I've popped up on an Android thread. All I do is respond to the all too common ***** like you on threads like this. You crack on enjoying your Crazy Frog screensaver and ringtone.
