As for the R33 GTR, I would have a Skyline again every single day. I would probably go for an R32 GTR if I went there again, just because I've grown to love their shape.
At around 300bhp the GTR was good, but a little too sophisticated. A decatted exhaust system and remap, coupled with airfilters, moved it up to around 430bhp on 1 bar of boost, and that was just a whole different world, plus I won a few trophies along the way too

Very nice - a bit of a minefield though hunting for a R32 / R33 nowadays though given the age, don't you think?

I looked through your pics of the Skyline above via your link, looked mighty! - I would have tried to keep hold of it in that (near perfect?) condition, this was my favourite (hope you don't mind me posting this):

Very awesome.

Thank you Frayz, I've been checking out your "for sale" advert, looking for money down the sofas, (and everyone elses) to buy it

I sold my Newage wheels with good tyres for about £250 IIRC I don't have a link for the arches, but mine are going to be for sale when I can be bothered writing a for sale thread (approx £40)

Firstly, I don't mind any of my photos being posted up That was oneof my "For Sale" shots, after I'd sold the 400R sideskirts and rear bumper
Secondly, I would buy a known car (32/33) from a member on GTR.co.uk or Skylineowners.com.
Knowing these cars pretty well now I'd have a better chance than most of spotting the bad points.

I sold the Skyline because we wanted to go to Australia on a dream holiday, which we did, and I would do it again. I kept back a little money for my Impreza project to keep me off the streets

Funny enough I've been browsing the for sale section of GTR.co.uk, there is some serious piece of car on there - especially this one:

...but I'd never get rid of my Scooby, it would have to be as well as the Scooby which would be crazy but I'm thinking about it, lol, maybe a year or so (and borrow my sisters garage).

How did your R33 compare to the Scoobies you've had and Evo?

Fair play to you, I've never been but its somewhere I've always wanted to go! and a cracking Impreza it is mate, looking forward to seeing that front grill painted, it will look great.

Got the car out of the garage today to do some little jobs, also to look at my splash guards and whether I'll fit them as well as mudflaps, or without the flaps...

Looks great Cliff I like the cleaness of it, personally I'm not a big fan of spats but if your going to have them I would suggest one or the other either flaps or spats I'm going for flaps on mine when I get going I'm going to send to the states for Rally Armour flaps

I have this thing for spats Si, I've wanted a set since I bought the car almost a year ago
They'll obviously be sprayed up along with the front end parts when it eventually gets done

I may get shot for saying this but I like the look of your spats in black, it really sets it off and makes the white look so clean.

You don't know how many times I've looked at them and thought about leaving them black!!! I have to keep in mind the front end is going all white, I don't want to leave the splitter black, and so they may then look out of place?!

Hmm...I'd be interested to see what it would look like with the splitter left black actually with black spats and bumper sprayed. If it didn't work they could be sprayed later?

I bought it 2nd hand, intercooler and pipework with hoses, from Rich at FB tuning.
It's just an Autobahn88 version, pretty much the same as this one I think.....

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUBARU-IMP...item2a296ba631

I paid around £140 but it was in very good condition.

I'm interested to see your project if you have any links or photos

I was just having a look now. Excellent bargain that rear spoiler!!! I'm interested to see what internal vents you use to make the roof scoop functional, that sounds very good

Gonna try and get some from flebay. saw some the other week that went for about £40 but it was the whole set inside and outside. I had one of these scoops on my old blobeye and it looked good. It just looks a bit big on the classic, so not sure yet. WIll keep me eyes open and see what comes up. Need to get intercooler and splitter next like the ones you have fitted so may go with them.

One small update, I apologise for my car being photographed in the garage, but the battery was flat as a flat thing on flat day in flat town

I decided to blacken the internals of my headlights and bought 2nd hand side lights to match....

The headlights and sidelights are both only loosely fitted, so ignore gaps etc

I also have a white 99/00 bumper coming without the headlight washers, and a white 99/00 grill Getting really exciting now

Si, I like this mod on white and silver classics, as long as the car is not rally styled, ie; rally style wheels and flaps etc.
I'm hoping to be out and about in it this season, so hopefully we'll cross paths

Uxbridge for one have you tried the CTEK charger there Cliff? I'll be setting a fixed cable up on this car the same as my old classic, a fused extension off the battery and locating a socket under the number plate it saves the ball ache of opening the bonnet all the time as I drive in and plug in nice and simples

If you look again at the 2nd and 5th photos, you'll see my trickle charger lead on the drivers side, going under the bonnet, which is now connected, I removed it for a little too long by accident

My new white bumper, loosely fitted for testing. The headlights, grill and sidelights are also not bolted in, hence it looks a little messy

Now to decide if I have fog lights or fog covers, and if the splitter stays black!!!?

Personally I'd paint the splitter, looks unfinished in black IMO.

Fogs or covers, both look good to me.

I wasn't going to fit fogs, I preferred covers, but looking these I'm having second thoughts. If I do fit fogs they'll be the crystal type though, not these ones.

I need to bring the car out of the garage and look at the unpainted splash guards with the black splitter, but I pretty much know in my mind it'll all be going white ..... I think..... lol
