With thanks to Rich at FB tuning, new HEL brake lines fitted (x4).

It looks like the old brake lines were not right for the car, too short and were rubbing on the bodywork which caused damage to the lines. Also, the drivers side rear brake would not bleed as the nipple was blocked, but that's also now sorted

Today was the 1st time I could have a proper look under the car, it doesn't look too bad at all
I can see the exhaust is 2.5", so that will change to a 3" over time.

Now that summer is in the air once more, I decided to bring out the Impreza and have a look a a few bits I've collected recently.
I started by removing the 98 front bumper (now for sale) and then fitted the 99/00 bumper purchased from Rich at FB tuning (cheers buddy).
I've temporarily fitted the HT autos P1 splitter and fog covers, and I'm also having a look at the HT autos grill, to see if I'll keep it or not.

Good work there mate but I'm really surprised that the grill doesn't look as ugly as I thought it was going to! At least once you fit a front mount the worst job is pretty much done. The other bit is easy!

The grill looked really ugly with the older front bumper, but now it looks okay with the 99/00 bumper I feel, but I'll keep looking at it until it's spray time
The grill to bonnet fit doesn't look right to me
Also, not wishing to be a party pooper, I preferred it with the 98 bumper. The 99 with splitter looks too heavy without side-skirts.... which I hope your not planning on fitting
The wheels look good in grey too. I was thinking of something similar for mine but with the gold calipers it was one colour too far.

Sadly I am refitting the sideskirts, otherwise I get left with holes down the sills which make the car look unfinished, it's not like yours!!! I have a photoshop vision of the car I'm working to and much prefer the later bumper with a splitter to the 98, but I understand it's all totally personal preference and no offence taken

One thing I do hate and will change, (just to go against you again), is the grey wheels
They will definitely be going black, and then when money allows they'll be changed for a proper set of wide wheels

I decided not to use the grill shown in the last pictures, instead I've bought a 99/00 version, plus I bought a front mount intercooler with pipework (With thanks to Rich at FB tuning again)

This bank holiday weekend I started stripping the car down ready for the FMIC fitting.....

I've now also removed the TMIC, the drivers side wing and the airbox whilst the car is secured in the garage, just need a grinder and some *****

Thanks Mags, you have no idea how excited I am about this getting finished and then my trip down to see you to sort out my new wheels
Today was a good day though, I had a chat with Rich at FB tuning about my standard recirc dump valve needing some different hosing to fit the pipework of the FMIC, and whilst there I had a complete brainwave!!!!!!!!!!!!! What I have done now, is removed the bumper bar from the Impreza which my intercooler came from (car being broken), which means it's drilled and chopped and saves loads of time and effort!!!
So, 10 minutes work at home and I now have the intercooler mounted.........

A couple of pictures from tonight, FMIC fitted and the car starts, which is a bonus

The intercooler and pipework will now be removed again, now I know it all fits and the hard work is done, and then it'll be cleaned up and sprayed to look a little better than it does now. The intercooler itself will be going black

With a spare couple of hours free this morning, I decided to fully trim the front bumper and P1 replica splitter (HT Autos jobbie) to enable the bumper to fit with the new front mount, job done but still many hours of work ahead

A bit of a progress update at last..............
I bought some cheap rear arches, they fit over the existing arches and they're supposed to look like the Newage wide track style. I'll keep looking at them before deciding to fit or sell...........

After a change of heart, the new Bronze 18" Inovit STVI wheels have been taken off and are up for sale (without tyres) £310 collected.....
New Inovit Tarmc 18x8 ET42 alloys fitted in their place, with thanks to Mags at RTS.
I also rubbed down, cleaned up and hammerite'd the front panel as it was looking a little aged
I hope you like the change....

Looks fantastic mate, cracking car and good work! Think you definately made the right choice on wheels and front grill - really suits the car perfect.
Looking mint as!
BTW: I'm loving that R33 GTR Skyline you had, would you buy another? I've always fancied one in the R33 vein but I think my other half would kill me if I told her I was now going to save up for a Skyline as well as having the scoob!

Glad you like my progress so far, I need to get into gear and get the front end sprayed up and put together now
As for the R33 GTR, I would have a Skyline again every single day. I would probably go for an R32 GTR if I went there again, just because I've grown to love their shape.
At around 300bhp the GTR was good, but a little too sophisticated. A decatted exhaust system and remap, coupled with airfilters, moved it up to around 430bhp on 1 bar of boost, and that was just a whole different world, plus I won a few trophies along the way too
