White Classic WRX - on a budget
Just noticed this project and it's great to see you've started it right at the very beginning, I wish I'd started a project thread when I bought mine but I didn't plan on doing much to it
It's a fantastic base car and it's very clean and looks great in white. I really like it without the skirts on
If you want the vents dusted over in white I'll see what paint I have lying around.

I thought I'd start my project right at the beginning as when I got my Skyline I did the same and looking back was superb, seeing the journey it went through.
I'm going to keep the 22b vents, no need to spray them up, I love them, I decided
I do like it without the skirts, it's just the holes that are left and also will the rear bumper need a spray if I remove the trims to match it up?
I need to start off by refitting the sideskirts, see how I feel looking at the car both ways, skirts on or off, then go from there

With thanks to my mate Iain (Wimpy), I now have another set of alloys to play with

These will be sprayed matt black in my garage, maybe satin black, the currently fitted OZ wheels will be sold on (too many spokes for my liking), but these will still be temporary wheels until I decide which permanent set of wheels to go for

I've swapped over to my new STi alloys for a looky see, the don't look great in the grey colour so will need to go matt black......

and photoshopped a little darker, looking much better

I also sprayed the 22b vents a white colour to see them better....

I think they look better than grey but I also think they'd look much better in gloss black. If we paint them matt black I swear to god I'm going to write "****" on every single one with white chalk!

MOT day!!!!!!!!!!!!
Car FAILED!!!!!!!
1. Windscreen washer jet not working!!!
(Now sorted)
2. Headlight beam too high, adjuster missing (Now sorted with thanks to Paulo P
Adjuster from older headlight transfered over )
3. Front brake line excessive damage (ordered red HEL brake lines)
4. Front brakes lines - not enough space to move?
(ordered HEL brake lines)
Advisorys:
1. Number plates incorrect (character size)
2. from ARB drop link bushes worn
3. Rear shock showing wear
4. side light bulbs wrong colour
5. Rear fog light colour (a little pink!!
)
So, HEL brake lines on order, then it's back for retest, everything else can be done over time slowly
With huge thanks to Paulo P for helping me out again today, already cleared up a couple of the MOT failure points

I was speaking to David last night and he had a bad experience with those guys when they were LEX auto centres and they failed his car on the emissions when they tested it with a cold engine and tried to charge him to clean the injectors

I also don't understand why they didn't adjust the headlight with their fingers but you live and learn.
Good fun sorting out the headlight though and I learned something new

Yeah, we'll see what things look like with up on the ramps, I'm hoping somethings obviously wrong back there.
Sorting out the headlight was good fun, I've not tried to line it up yet because of man flu

Granted some **** placed it behind the car you were reversing but that wasn't my fault either
