And that's perfectly OK.

But you don't pontificate about it on every post relating to those cars.

Does that preclude me from having an opinion on the hatch. No! I love how everyone thinks it is jealousy. If that is the best you can come up with then you have already lost the argument. Believe you me the last thing I am is jealous of anyone driving that f**king overpriced monstrosity

Do you? Well you must be pretty thick then. I own a classic because I like it and I can run it as a fun car. I use my other car day to day. It's not hard to grasp and if people think my Scoob is a rusty old banger then fair play to them. The point is I like it, but I wouldn't stop anyone else from having a different opinion to me whch is what you and your ilk seem determined to do with me over the hatch.

If my comments over the hatch are seen as some by insulting the oweers then they need to get a thicker skin!

It is also interesting how you seem to correlate someone with money as being a better person than someone with less as you imply their opinion carries more wieght. Nice sentiment
So what about the other points in my post like the 300+ hatch sales in 2011 were for the year befores model rather than the 2011 car? Or are you only interested in handbag swinging.

You constantly go out of your way to comment on hatch posts - if you don't like it that much then why not just ignore it instead of behaving like a spoilt child
Spoilt child? Is that the best you can do? Why don't you just ignore my posts, you are like my f**king shadow as it is. If you don't like what I write just stay away rather than making stupid comments like that. I am entitled to express my opinion just as you are so stop telling me I shoudn't.

And yes your car will go a little further than a 2wd in the snow, but with big fat low profile tyres and no low ratio it isn't going to get you much further other than in your dreams. Altoiugh like most Impreza drivers you're probably a driving God as well so that will make up for any dhortcomings of the vehicle

No, not a driving god.
I know where it gets me and its a lot further than a 2wd car gets.
For example, up a medium sized hill to get to my home - fwd cars just about manage to get up if driven correctly
rwd cars have absolutely no hope

I also am entitled to write exactly what I want

So carry on like a spoilt little boy sure.

wah, wah, wah, I hate the hatch
wah, wah, wah, I hate the saloon
wah, wah, wah, they're over priced
wah, wah, wah, too many lines
wah, wah, wah, doesn't work in snow
wah, wah, wah, I need my nappy changed cause I've shat myself

No, you posted your personal opinions so there is nothing there really to discus. You hate them, others love them, end of.
I posted facts so theres plenty to discus. Let me remind you.
You said where only 300 odd hatches sold in 2011 proves subaru are in trouble and these poor sales show people hate the hatch. You also went on to say you hope subaru pull out of the uk which i found strange coming from a so called enthusiast.
I pointed out that the hatch over this period was a superseaded model. Therefor for subaru to sell over 300 during 2011 shows it was in fact a sought after model.
What are your thoughts on this?

Just Google it if you don't believe me.
Don't have to google it you geek, attempted the same route in my company Focus and I had to turn back as the front wheels were spinning like a roulette wheel.

You need to leave that google stuff alone as it's giving you false information.

Same as googling the list of cars for 33k that were better value than the current Scooby spec for spec.
I tried it and couldn't find anything suitable
Then I tried 3 year old cars
And low and behold the Scoob was the best value there too had you bought new
I am not convinced that f1_fan lives in the UK as his research is all to ****

Personally I think with Subaru having a rally team it did support Uk sales as the rally audience in the uk is pretty big but now Subaru dont get their name about anywhere do they?
Time attack maybe? :/
Also surely if hardly any are sold and subsequently resold then surely they should hold their value better and be more sought after????
Someone I know is selling a Scooby Cossie hatch, how much is he looking at losing???

I've been through a few for sale thread on here for the V8 and V9 Scooby's and people are offering pence compared to what the cars are worth...THIS is what ruins the value of Scooby's.

The hatch is still in it's infancy as far as mods are concerned last year at the NBO we had some fantastic modified examples in the arena

This year they will be even better I'm sure

Look at the amercian forums the purists have really got behind the new hatch and some fantastic examples are on show wide wheels and slammed ,some great examples and im sure the uk will follow that modded scene in the next few years as the rest of the Impreza get rarer

The main thing is the future for subaru in the uk

Will they fetch out an Impreza for 20-22k or a STi diesel version or a really agressive looking hatch like the japenese one that we saw recently to continue the Impreza brand which has been going for nearly 20 years

Or will the BRZ be the future ?

I think the only way subaru can compete in the uk is going the STi diesel route.
I dont think the BRZ will sell in any great numbers.

I like the BRZ and would be tempted to buy one
I have done the big power awd for years now and fancy a change
But I still love the Subaru brand
I think a rwd 200 to 300 bhp could be what I am after
The kids are grown up so I don't need 4 doors
Price that between 25 and 30k and with my reliability record with the Subaru brand and we could have a replacement for my Hawkeye

Don't get me wrong, i think the BRZ is a good looking car and im sure it will be a great drive. I also think its appeal will be very limited due to practicability, running costs ect.
Several manufacturers have bought out performance diesels and they seem popular in the uk. People want their cake and eat it these days.
I think subaru are already thinking along these lines by developing diesel cars. The next step is a performance diesel.

If you want a mild sporting variation then by all means buy a diesel, but a diesel engine could never do justice to the STi badge. The words performance and diesel just don't go together.

Yet, but technology doesn't sit still We have seen a diesel racing car and a diesel rally car recently.
I'm not a fan of oil burners by i do think their the interim future.

I'm not so knowledgeable on scoobys but 'quick' diesels i've had my share, I don't think there will ever be a replacement for petrol cars for the purist but I do beg to differ on the statement of performance and diesels, BMW are doing a tri turbo diesel with 381BHP and presumably oodles of torque to accompany.
I would say on a normal road where most cars spend 95% of their time, that engine would be more than enough performance, you have to remember with diesels its the drive-ability of them, you don't have to wring their neck when you want to push on, the initial punch of a quick diesel from the torque makes them feel incredibly powerful.

Most people have dropped the chugging oil burner image with the diesel and I think a big diesel race series with some respected manufactures in would banish the diesel stigma, and people could see it for what it really is.

So in reference to the OP Subaru should keep the STI alive it'd be such a shame if it went but offer a diesel alternative however don't badge it as an STI badge it as what it is, something new.

Just my two pence.

I've tried to ignore your posts f1_fan over the past few weeks since Christmas, but your always having a right go at someone about something, anything, Sports in my case and on this thread, just about everybody with an opinion that differs to yours regarding the hatch models.

You must be a total control freak. Your poor partner. On second thoughts you must live alone, no one could put up with your relentless rants for very long without going insane or topping themselves, or you!

I personally love the new hatch and the saloon and if I had the money for a new one, I would buy a new Subaru without a second glance at any of the 2WD competition.

Long may Subaru remain a strong motoring icon in the UK. f1_fan you're just a Judas!
