Amateur Budget 2.1 Stroker Project
Just been stopped by a commercial tyres mechanic to be told my rear wheel was buckled to hell! Space saver on, and the ticking noise that I, the MOT tester and our mechanic at work assumed was the rear disc. So, best try to source either a new alloy or see if it's possible to repair. Found this on the inside of the alloy....

That's annoying mate! I've just seen your other thread, what's more annoying is the fact that the new owner has brought his troubles to your door! Flipping nightmare mate, I'm with Bez on this one. Karma will sort it out.

The car was registered in his Dads name, and when I pointed out any grief over driving without insurance and he that may have to pay legal fee's he said his dad didn't care about debt and was always getting bailiff letters.
Had he said "sorry" I would have let it go, but trying to lie his way out of it just pissed me off.
That and smashing my old car to bits, I wasn't a happy bunny.
Thanks Simon, getting there slowly slowly. Just need to sort a running issue. I've been offered a cheap run around that I'm considering, I'm held back as I have to use it as a daily and that means jobs I should be taking my time over I'm having to rush. Look at the spaghetti junction gauge wiring for example lol.
I picked up a daily many years ago it was the best thing I ever did, an old Punto that paid for itself in the 15 months I had it then I had a secento lol but again it served its purpose, I've worked my way up to a nice golf now so happy days. I think a a Subaru owner 2 cars in the right circumstance is the best option it's allowed me to run mine as if it was a daily Subaru it would not happen I could not afford to run it as a single car.
Interesting day. The car hasn't been running well so has been off road. Working mornings 6 days a week give me about an hour of daylight to work in, and when it's been pissing down as it has I've got no hope. This is how I've had to improvise....

Anyway, worried I had an air leak somewhere and sick of having to yank the FMIC pipework every time I had to put it back on I bought some longer silicon pipework to make the fit better and less fiddly.

And also fitted a collar between the silicon inlet and MAF pipework to make sure there was no leak there. But still not running right.
Further investigation (With help from Simon Roe) found a mashed up inlet manifold gasket and an inlet chamber full of fuel

Another week of riding in the rain to work, made all the better by the recent news of a chap being kicked to death on the route I have to take.

Really sorry to hear you've had these problems mate. I sympathise with you regarding the weather, it makes doing the smallest of tasks a big deal. Fingers crossed that you get it all sorted. All I can say about what's happened to the guy on your route is, make sure your on your metal and If needs be maybe look into an alternative route. Maybe sounds crazy but nothing is worth risking your safety.
