Amateur Budget 2.1 Stroker Project

As i've now got FMIC pipework running through the wing the "chamber" can't go back on and so this pipework, and thus the plug have nowhere to go. I'm just worried that plug gives the ECU information on air intake?
Oh and I know sod all about DV's, and have to work out how this now goes on the FMIC.

. Just after that video was taken I looked underneath to find a puddle of fresh oil. It was getting dark so I couldn't see where from really and was resigned to the fact that I would probably have to take the engine back out. When I messed about with the clutch I didn't pay particular attention to where the seal was and although I'd taken 2 steps forward by starting it, I was going to take 1 step back in removing it again lol.
Anyways, after some investigation I found I hadn't put the clip down all the way on the crankcase breather
. As I said, two steps forward (As now I can run it for a while, I've found a water leak
). Lol, that would be "The Beast" (my mrs' Scenic that's jumping mine). Can't fault the beast, it took me putting £20 of petrol in it last weekend

Anyways, no readings from the prosport gauges, power steering acting crazy and a water leak to keep me busy. But I did drive it 10ft yesterday

Good news as it's only Minor stuff 
Can't help you with the power steering probs , as I left mine connected to the car.
I did have a minor water leak at the front (one of the small pipes off the water pump) and no matter how tight I did the jubilee clip once it got warm it weaped
In the end I put the heat shield back on the headers which stopped the pipe getting to hot and therefore stopped it leaking

It sounds very similar. I ran it up a few times and didn't have any water leaking. It was only when I sorted the oil leak and allowed it to tickover for a while did it show itself. It's dripping from the brand new water pump, which also has a new seal and the r/h pipe above it looks at a jaunty angle.
Honestly I'm as nervous as **** each time I start it, I can't wait to start using it a bit to get the confidence up.

The gauges light up etc, change colour but aren't giving a reading, on all 3.
It's only been started twice, pre and post oil leak.
Re the gauges; you sure you got the plugs in the correct places because the prosports can be a little confusing and the power will fit where the sensor goes.
And as micky said, don't keep starting it, get it booked in for mot and drive the ******, just go the extra long way to the mot station, book it in for the afternoon and drive it around for an hour or so before, don't forget different loads, take it easy at first and gradually increase the revs up to 5k rpm and stop every few miles and have a look under the bonnet just to check it's ok, take some oil and water with you and a few tools in the boot.
After about 50 miles go back to correct running in procedure.
If it's going to go **** up it will do it in the first 10 mins.

Cheers Ditch. I wired all the green (application) wires in the dash to separate wires running into the engine bay and marked up those wires accordingly. I thought maybe they had come loose but the oil pressure gauge started working yesterday after I'd reconnected the earths in the bay.
It's the water leak that's preventing me from getting it out on the road, and because it's now getting dark as I'm home from work I can't locate it. The fan is also constantly on, and I think that's because I have the original temp sensor now out of the cross over pipe and the prosport sensor in there instead.
Did you have yours mapped whilst running it in Ditch?

mine was already mapped and I never added any new mods so no reason to map it.
Have you changed the turbo? and do you still have a maf? what ecu you running?
Actually scratch that yours is a 2.1 so best to get a running in map to be on the safe side.
I did it the easy way, although i'm umming and ahring about building another.

mine was already mapped and I never added any new mods so no reason to map it.

What ECU are you starting it on? I forget what decision you made.
Get the OEM temp sensor refitted and connected.
