Thanks guys! yeah its a great feeling to be at this stage of the project although theres still so much to do, with everything all nice and painted you just dont want to fit any dirty or rusty parts to it so its all the fiddly jobs from now on.
Ive stripped and rebuilt the pedal box, steering column, handbrake and gear linkage...

Im trying to get bits n bobs done in the kitchen now while its a bit cold.
I might drag the wiring loom in there next and see how much i can trim off it.

The wiring loom is finished, ive cut out everything i dont want, abs, aircon, airbag, stereo, etc etc even all the heater circuits as i am going to fit a simple inline fan and make my own heater matrix box to keep things simple plus i didn't want to fit a huge standard heater box.
A good few hours in the kitchen and i had cut out a good chunk if wiring loom..

And the waste pile..

And the loom fitted to the car, ive tried to keep it as tidy as possible and out of sight, should look ok with the dash fitted.

The engine bay is also starting to fill up now, brake and clutch master cylinder fitted, brake pipes, boost pack...

I also dropped a bit of a clanger! ive welded in the front turret rollcage bar rite where the window wiper mechanism goes so im hoping i can rig up a single wiper thingy ma jig!

Hi John! Just noticed you have dug my thread back out lol.
Nothing really exciting to update about yet, I've been doing the bodywork for a while now I've put some serious hours into it and I'm not even half way there.
I've only got a handful of jobs left to do on the car once its painted so I just need to knuckle down on the bodywork. I'm hoping to have it finished before winter!

Right then! time for an update, basically nearly 5 months ago I broke my leg and ankle in a downhill mountain biking accident so that's why progress has been slow.. BUT, all that said and and done I have been hobbling around the car on my crutches and managed to get a good chunk of it done. I just want to say that I am never going to take on a project of this size again lol, the engine conversion was a big enough job but the body work has just been gruelling! but to be fair, its all a memory now, heres a few pics.

I have painted the car in cellulose Ford Frozen White over a period of about a month to let all the coats settle and sink and I'm really happy with the results although I think I have put the last coat on to quickly as I've got some solvent popping going on but I ended up losing my window of warm weather opportunity so I will give it a final rub down and a few new coats next year, I also still need to paint the doors and the tail gate is currently under construction Its going to be vented.

Now for the bonnet and the front bumper, now bare in mind this project has been inspired from rally cross and is only a track car so its meant to be ugly and mean as ****, I didn't really want to use a top mount intercooler but things are quite tight in the engine bay so this just simplified thinks I,ve used a newage wrx cooler so a slight upgrade and i will fabricating an under tray duct that will hopefully direct the air plus the 205 bonnet is quite slanted so i think the air will find its way in.
