im not a great diesel mechanic but sounds pump or sensor related.
good luck, i hate bloody diesels lol

Sounds like crank sensor, this happened to my mates.

Hope so.......just snapped a towing bar moving it...then drove over the **** bent it like a banana and it's taken the cv boot out

Andy....

Like i said to you,the diag machine you need to use should be dealer kit....

Snap on scanners are sh!te,thats why your NOT getting codes relating to your problems..

There is NO lift pump in the tank....

If he has done his cambelt and it wont run,he has timed the crank incorrectly..They have a floating crankwheel with no woodruff key. You need to lock them through the front of the engine with a special timing pin..I have done 100's of them,and done plenty for other people when they have got them wrong!!!

With decent diag machine,if the crank sensor is faulty it will ALWAYS bring up an engine syncronisation code..
If the scanner has live data,then check for engine speed whilst cranking.. Engine speed for diag is taken from crank sensor,so if 0 rpm is seen,then sensor is faulty..

The glow device errors,or heater errors are very common and just means u have a glow plug down.. Also thats why your glow plug light was coming on whilst you was driving..
