Welcome to P1 ownership
I've had 4 classic's over the last 7 years.
Started with a V5 Type R, then a UK2000 turbo, and currently have my P1 #979 as my baby which is SORN'd at the mo.
My Type R was an absolutely awsome car and definatly the most raw and thrilling classic I've had with all the things it's known for such as the close ratio box and DCCD etc.
Got a MY99 UK Wagon as a daily hack/workhorse and is a great to use everyday without worrying about where i park it or shopping trolly dings and such!!
I pulled my P1 out of the garage after 1 year of storage the other day and even though I drive my wagon everyday and love it, the P1 instantly gave me the grin factor and reminded me of just how special a car it is.
We are in bad times at the mo with the value of these cars and the state of the second hand market in general so ignore all the negative comments you may get about P1's not being special or worth anything over other classics....
Do what I am planning to do and keep the P1 as near to it's origional state as possible with just the benefit of a re-map with a stage 1 upgrade as Snake mentioned..
This will only benefit the car and make it safer and more reliable without spoiling it's O/E look....it's what Ive done to mine.
There are many good Mappers people will recommend...my vote definatly goes to to Bob Rawle, had a great mapping experience with him and was a joy to see him do his thing...came away a very happy chap and with a safe and reliable 328bhp from a stage 1 setup and more importantly knowing the car has been mapped to run on the correct UK fuel (V-Power)
Enjoy the your P1 mate and keep hold of it for as long as you can...I'm sure in time...they will be the Impreza that everyone remembers wishes they had!!!!!

snake do you have a link to it? i have just joined the forum, il have a look into engine tuner and bob then, could i get away with a sports cat for stage 1? dont really fancy full on no cat.
Alrite fella,
I took mine to Rowleys performance engineering for service....it's only about an hour away in crediton, just past smeatharpe. I don't think they remap but worth a shout for rolling road time and other work.
