If your putting red to a known 12V and black to earth then they should light up. If not then they may well be fooked my friend.

I FEEL SO STUPID!!!!!!
Connected them to the car battery this morning coz it wasnt raining.
And hey presto!! We have lighting!!
I have always tested car steroes etc from the charger, as it has a 12 volt supply switch on it.
And use it to inflate tyres etc, have no idea why it didnt work with the gauges????
Just wanna say a big THANK YOU to all of u for your help and advice.
Will post a pic up this sunday when they are in and working.
Thanks again
