2.0 turbo help???

Default 2.0 turbo help???

hiya there, i am new to the scooby world i have bought a 2.0 turbo wrx import 1995 with the bottom end knocking...

i have just got my hands on a complete 2.0 turbo engine from a wrx with the head gasket gone of my mate..
and the head will need skimming.

im planning to take my engine out, use the block from the engine i have sat there..

im looking to get this scooby running right asap cheapest way..

has any one got any good advice on my plans would really help
also i have never took out a subaru engine or a 4x4 engine so whats the best way of getting this lump out...

post this in the technical section mate, you'll get better responses. Problem you'll have with making an engine out of a cocktail of parts is that theyre both messed up and once you factor a head gasket set, oil, filter, cambelt kit etc into it you might as well just buy a decent running lump.

Others may have a different opinion, all I can say is that I hope you got that 95 wrx cheap, like £500 cheap.

you can use any newer 2.0 block without issue, so long as you retain the correct gasket. IE, using a 207 block with a G head requires the G gasket

Thanks for them comments. I will make a thread in tech later today. Also yer I paid 500 for her and got a good deal couse its had some nice pricey parts onit. Also I know my engine is a EJ20 and the engine I have got sat there on the block it says EJ20 how do I know if its a 207 or any others cheers

The vin plate will have the correct engine designation on it, i.e. EJ205, EJ207 etc. Not sure how you would check when the engine aint in the car tho......

Removal is much the same as any other engine, undo the mounts, gearbox (remember the clutch fork) and it should come out.....(obviously unplug everthing).
