someone at work did say it but no idea if its true or not, i t amy just be an acent thing, you used to be able to get siri for the old iphones untill apple bought it and pulled it from general use to go on there i4s, so its nothing new lol.
pricing wise it is with a contract lol although its in the small print.

If venting about Apple stops you beating your wife, then it's all good.
The notifications are a lot better than anything available, Apple gave a hat tip to Android, and rightfully so, but they've given them a schooling at the same time.

I was discussing the launch with several colleagues at work today...All have iphone 4's...
Rather subdued bunch today... from the i5 will the next biggest thing to ..
Well that was a bit of a damp squib...
Comments were
"I'll get one, but only becuse my one is out of contract and broken"
"FFS when will he give it flash"...
"Same phone new innards"
No buzz, no planning of time to get out and pick up the new offering..
Lets see if the next one does set new standards

now now, dont get personal, or is it because thats the only way the argument can go cos the iphone cant defend itself?
on that note, the only redeeming feature of the iphone is the notifications?

How many new standards do Apple need to set before you haters will stop the hating. You all wet your pants when your darling HTSamsung add a couple of numbers to a processor. Apple change the way we interact with our devices and all you just see a same shape case. You all suck lemons in the end, so crack on.

Bit confused as to the issue people have with iPhones?
I'm a programmer and I hate the HTC. I don't care that it's faster or whatever. Apples restrictions are ridiculous but there are ways around it for those who want the freedom. At the end of the day it looks good, it makes phonecalls, it's an iPod and it has a lot of great apps. I fail to see the problem, is it the price?

Even the mainstream media has lost interest now. Nothing on the news, no buzz around the launch.. Is this apple in it's decline part of it's usual boom and bust cycle ?
Also the apple brand bullies/fanbois seem to be masturbating somewhat less furiously over the latest Chinese iLimited ??

Camera was again cra@p on the iPhone4 and is simply playing catchup with the rest of the market, nothing innovative there.
It may have great graphics capability, shame it still via a dated 3.5" screen and the Apple knows-best-for-you modus operandi approach, no swappable battery, no expandable mass storage and little in the way of customisation is a major bug bear. It's no supprise then that the new iPhone 4S is met with a damp squib, even from the Apple fanboi's. I guess we'll have to wait and see how much catching up the iPhone 5 has to do next year.

Taken this from wiki but it's just base information.
Siri was founded in December 2007 by Dag Kittlaus (CEO), Adam Cheyer (VP Engineering), and Tom Gruber (CTO/VP Design), together with Norman Winarsky from SRI's venture group.
On 28 April 2010, it was announced that Apple Inc. was to buy Siri.

Two of you making yourselves look silly now.
Read up on the antenna switching, it has nothing to do with the iPhone 4 antenna, which works great by the way, still in production.
3.5" isnt exactly lacking, and you obviously missed mirroring via AirPlay, all that graphic goodness on your TV.

The iPhone 4 had a big problem with the antenna, Steve Jobs response was, I quote "Just avoid holding it in that way." If that is not acknowledgement of the issue from the head of Apple, you're more deluded than I thought!
And why would you play phone games on a big TV (I take that as acknowledgement that the screen is somewhat too small for games!), I have either XBox and/or PS3 for that which have much better games and more superior game play experience. Your clutching now!!

Give it up Jon, you're living in the past.
There is no antenna problem, it's just some hype you fell for, you were too busy trying not to fall for the imaginary Apple hype to notice, your not alone there are probably support groups.
iPhone/iPad games are very good, great graphics processing, do you know someone on here called me mad for thinking the iPhone would impact the gaming market, he's still sucking lemons.

I think you'll find you're coming across as one of the anti apple freaks all frothing at the mouth at the news of a new iphone. You can't even get your reasons for slating it accurate such as comparing contract with non contract prices.

Scooby Regular
im not realy that anti apple tbh, if you want simple that works and don't mind paying a bit more than others then its good.
i just like fishing for the applefans who think your going against god saying an apple product isn't all new and the best thing out there.

If anyone wants to know what SIRI is like, download EVA on Android. Does the same thing, works quite well, but some words it gets wrong no matter how hard you try to pronounce them correctly. You can use it to write facebook updates, check stocks, make appointments, check weather, launch apps, write e-mails and text messages, make calls etc...... bit of a gimmick so I've uninstalled it.
The 4S is a let down for me, I really did think Apple would release something better after 16 months. I didn't realise that the normal 4 hadn't got HSDPA, looks like they're saving LTE for the iPhone 5. Megapixels are not important to me, it's the quality of the photo that counts so will have to see what the 4S is like there. 1080P recording should be good, but again depends on quality. It doesn't bring anything new to the market and the new features in iOS5 have been present in Android for ages and I prefer the Android user experience so will not be switching. Will be interesting to see what apps devs bring out to utilise the extra power the iPhone now has though.
