its pants mate, one of the worst i have done,

did this a few week back:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/6270432918/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/6270432918/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr

it was a convertable, full colour change, edged all the panels up and then painted it as a whole for a colour match, it too 8 hours to paint,

3 coats of white, 5 coats of orange base, 5 coats of the pearl coat and then 3 clears, its just so thing,

i hate velocity red too!

Glad I'm not the only one then lol, that A4 cab looks **** in that colour it has to be said
Can't beat a colour which you pop 2 full and 1 drop coat and its done
Do you always use a 3 coat usage on clear Jake?
I do on the nice jobs but for most run of the mill stuff its 2 coats.
Btw I'm Ryan

Only on the important stuff that's going to be given a good flat down n polish. Most of our repair work just gets the traditional 2 coats.

Use powder coat to orange the wheels, last way longer than paint. Also nice job on the paintwork.

one of the worst laquers ive used for losing finish after looking perfect is standox, only used it once and never again. Max Meyer is my prefered clear, although currently usinf mipa CC4 for run of the mill jobs and mipa CC6 for our own subaru

andys scooby first,

all the front panels were trial fitted and then the slam/headlamp panels were welded into place

so its now ready for prep

http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/6282565961/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/6282565961/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr

onto mine,

lastnight saw my front panels welded in and me start cutting the roof hole in the headlining, also flatted the rest of the panels and then washed the care

http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/6282565709/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/6282565709/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr

so tonight the front panels will go into primer/colour and then the rest of andys can be built up for paint, mine will see the wings go on ready for polishing

onwards n upwards.

dint have much time today so have been limited to dinner hour and overtime,

andys car is still over in the other shop, the front panel has now been painted along with the front cross member, his wings and bonnet have been repaired where needed and primed, sorry andy no pic, ps for anyone doing this the blobeye bonnet catch is different to the hawkeye one, need to ring andy about that,

mine came over to my bodyshop side, were i masked it up and got the bonnet and wing tips buffed up,

this is the first inital polish, while the paint is still very fresh i can only hit it so hard, after a few weeks i will give it its final polish and detail, this is something we do with all cars, and it allows us to get a good finish.

Liking that Jake, looks like the finish will end up very nice there fella.
It does need a bit to allow for it to cure 100% as it will fall down a touch.

yeah very true, people often think you just paint it and its back to factory,

this first polishing just allows me to get in any areas that will be covered by the trims and panels next time

put a late stint into night.

got quite a bit done, i was going to leave the coilovers till after winter, but it looked like it was on stilts, lol

subaru coilovers are alot nicer to do than golf ones and it went pretty easy up untill i snapped one of the top mount studs!!!! luckily i had a spar coilover to pinch one out of, just meant taking the strut out,

also go the bumper fully built up too and added a few accesories

andy's car saw his rear bumper get fully repaired aswell as a few final adjustments to the panels, so his is now ready for prep too.

here are a few pics:
