Some New Pictures...

Checking alternator bracket fits... I was going to use an aircon bracket and drive off the aircon pulley, but I changed my mind...

TPS sensor wire is too short so needs extending.. Didnt fancy just using connectors so it has been cut and soldered...

Might as well extend it using the correct colour wires...

Out of scrap box... possibly going to use these to make the belt tensioner bracket (IE the otherside of alternator bracket that is on the power steering pump normally)

Couple of wires soldered, however my heatshrink had paint and cr@p all over it, but who cares..

TPS Connected Up...

Nitrous Solenoids...

Bottle and some other bits...

Also bought a probe power steering and Aircon Belt as it is about the right length... just need to find a cam belt tensioner pulley...

Also Suggestions on nitrous pipe... in car or under car?

David

David, i know you said you need a cam belt tensioner and as i have not read back it may be for something else BUT i have a aircon belt tensioner pulley/bracket which i am going to throw out tomorrow... let me know
My Diy fmic has been put on hold mounted evrything up and the gtir i/c looks so small.... obviously bigger than the oe i/c but size is evrything
Think my first waste of money has been the i/c
if plans dont change then gtir i/c will have to do...

Definately nos pipe in car!!
If it leaks/splits it will be the funniest thing thats ever happened
On a serious note, it shouldnt be a problem running it through the car.. a lot tidyer... less pipework under the car to get caught/broken??

David

i dont know, you just never seem to stop, whatwith the new dog and all

When i had the nitrous on my 106gti i had it underneath the car, i attached it down the side of the car, along the lip where the standard jack attaches to, no scrap or splitting, just mega fun.

ahh they were the days 170bhp in a 106 gti plus 100bhp nitrous injection. Boy did that humiliate M3's.

I am going to look for the wiring instructions if you need them, or you could try nitrous express if you are desperate.

I like the NOS kit.
Removal of lag is always a good thing. Hope you have a spare gearbox\clutch lying around tho (Thinks about buying stock in a clutch manufacturer)

Does the NOS kit include the Size 8 Training shoe show in the bottom of the pic, or is that from another project

Still watching with interest: keep up the good work.

David, sorry mate i've got no camera at the mo
basically it is a pulley wheel which has its own bearing, it is attatched to a bracket which is pretty hard to explain
To be honest, if you dont mind it cluttering up your garage i will post it to ya, only cost about £2??? postage.....
I will donate the postage to to the david wallis fmic fund..
So, let me know your adress if you want it and i'll post it up to ya..
Rob
p.s. i cut the tie bar out that is in front of the radiator...
it has doubled the ammount of space in front of the rad now!!!

Unhappy

Just a thought, David (and I hate to be negative when you are quite clearly in the happy grip of insanity) but how exactly are you planning to insure this beastie?

I just insured mine for 250bhp after a 6 month ban a year ago, and they still want £2000!!!

Admittedly I have no NCBs to speak of (damn damn damn) and I am single and under 25, but still.....NOS really bumps the price up from what I gather.

Yeah, also watch they don't expire whilst you are banned..

You could insure a car for theft and fire only sort of thing and accumilate you no claims..

Why are you not willing to say why you got banned?

I can understand why Dave might not want to tell why he got banned. I had 'a 6 month break' and I felt so damn awful. And I had just been caught at over 100mph.

All I can do is convey my sympathies for Mr.Wallis.

Geting banned nearly cost me my job, if it wasn't for some very supportive friends.

I wish I had had David's techincal ability to concentrate on my car, instead of sitting in front of the TV for 6 months.

I didn't mean anything by it and if David is not willing to say then fair enough I just had not seen the question asked directly that's all..

Sorry ignore me then please..
