Deep breath everyone.
I've been trying to get through for the last couple of days now, it is frustrating getting answering phone 10 times a day, leaving messages etc. But since it's one guy trying to do the best for a whole community I think everyone should be a bit patent.
Anyway... Ding ding.... Round 2.

I went to sky too after trying to get a quote off Gary 2 years running (and yes, tried the pm route with no reply) Sky were really helpful actually and gave me a great price. Well worth a try if you don't get lucky getting hold of Gary.

I realise he's busy but why can't anyone else there offer the same flippin quotes?? They're a broker after all aren't they, surely everyone there has access to the same companies Gary does. The first year I tried to get hold of him I gave up and asked another guy there for the quote and he was so rude, just didn't want to know. You'd think whoever is in charge at KM would get another member there to understand what Gary does, someone always answers the phone there just not the man who can. The person in charge must be pretty blind to it if they can't see they're losing business by only having one member of staff that can quote subaru owners

Maybe it's more a case of Gary needs to start his own insurance broker then he can train and employ underlings in his mystical subaru quoting ways. If he's really that busy he'd make a fortune, imagine capturing the whole audience Gary? Infact, why not? You've got a captive audience!

I'm with KM as well, and very happy with the service.

Yes, sometimes it takes a couple of days to get hold of Gary (i make maybe one or two calls a day), but the service is always great.

I'd rather call KM 5 times and have a good quote than call to 5 different insurance companies and give them my details 5 times only to get a stupid quote at the end.

So does that mean that there is 1 person in the whole of KM that can only quote for impreza insurance
I also rang around several insurance companies and the only one i couldnt get through too was KM, so filled in the online form on the 27/6 and still no reply 16 days later!! ended up going with sky who answered my call (and he wasnt a impreza specialist) gave me a great quote within 10 mins i was insured easy.

This is not a dig at Moley just KM in general

No, we can all quote for them, but not everyone uses the same schemes i do.

Just like i have access to the schemes they use, but don't write any £40k+ fleet policies that they do.

You have to appreciate Subaru's are only a small part of the business we do.

Cool

I was a new customer for Gary last week. Even though he has been in hospital this week he managed to sort out the big mess the DVLA got me in.

I very much doubt that my previous company could have sorted it out it the short time scale.

As said top fella in my books

Lets hope it's not in the control tower...

Pilot.. "mayday, mayday! Require emergency landing, clear runway 2.... Hello, hello... anyone there?"

You can't talk about leaving anyway, That would be a kick in the nuts for all the folks that do insure through you.

If you're stuck on the apron because the flight dispatcher won't answer his phone you'll know where i'm working.

And don't **** me off too much.... i could be telling them how much fuel to put in your plane (or not as the case may be)!!!

I have no plans on leaving for a fair while yet BTW

Gary I don't know why all the unfair abuse I got through to you after a second attempt and I can tell you something if it wasn't for first the pitfall of having slight business use I would be insured with you now as I know that in the event if a claim i know there would be no quibble as it was like yes that's fine, yes we know the cars modified that's no problem it's covered.

I can not understand why people can't seem to get through to Gary ?

I have been with the legend for some 6/7 years now and have 2 cars insured with him

I ring up ,speak to him and get the price do the deal ,pay the man and the paperwork is printing ou when we talk about subaru cars

Every time without fail ,no fuss ,no moans and he remembers me straight away .

Maybe I have a special hotline to him ,I don't know but they put me through straight away

So simple this place seems to be full of keyboard warriors who like to make mountains out of molehills
To run poor Gary down and cause trouble

I have never had to pm Gary as I just pick up the phone

Maybe I'm privileged or just treat him with the respect he deserves and don't moan and just do the deal

What i want to know is, can you beat £2100 renewal for one years no claims, (accident: oil & diesel, roundabouts, rain, and safety barrier dont work well with imprezas) on a 2000 Classic? - fully comp, excess at £250ish, and the mother (no points or accidents) added as a named driver.

Prorobably should of PMed this.

I gave up Last year with KM as i couldnt get hold of gary and the guy i did was rude so i went with A-Plan.

This yr,same story RE: gary the illusive man :-) so i just thought **** it and got a quote from someone at KM who was willing to give a quote.

A-Plan were £630 fully comp
KM were £570 fully comp like for like quote,so went with KM.(who also have a cheaper APR for instalments than APlan,so cheaper all round)

But annoyingly,1 yrs extra NCB etc, is £80 dearer than last yr,go figure.

Maybe gary, you could of got it cheaper but hey,it was cheaper than all my other quotes so for those who cant get hold of gary, just get a quote anyway from anyone willing at KM

cheers

Never had a problem with Gary, people seem quite impatient nowadays. It took me a little while on Monday to get my renewal sorted on my car but as per usual he beats any quote I can get elsewhere and is always a pleasure to talk to. Thanks again Gary.

I sent two pm's a couple of months ago, didn't get a reply, but I think he had about 60 plus pm's at the time.

So insured elsewhere. Not having a go at Gary, he can only do so much.
Actually met him and had a good chat.

Do most people leave their renewals to the last moment or leave plenty of time?

Started the search for mine a few weeks before renewal date. Almost decided to give up until sky sorted it.

I'd also challange you to find one who is an active part of the Subaru community away from the insurance section, going to meets and even taking clients out for passenger rides on track days.

Some people think it's their God given right to get straight through to me and get an amazingly cheap quote.

Sorry, i'm am only human!!!

It appears that seems to get forgotten sometimes.

I've had people moan that i've gone on holiday (came back to 15 pm's saying ''i know you're on holiday, but....''), and even suggest i shouldn't have a lunch break untill i've rung every message back.

I work my bollocks off trying to help as many people as i can, and i appreciate the positive comments from those who i am able to help.

Recently i've have a few complications with a small operation i had on my arm, meaning i've have to finish early a few days, and have a couple of half days. Unfortunately this has made things a bit worse gettig through.

I was actually advised to take a few days off work to completely rest my arm, but due to my current workload i ignored this advise (what a hero ).

I then come on here, read these comments, and REALLY wonder why i bother sometimes.

Most people i insure will agree i'm not a normal ''quote and sell'' insurance broker. Lots of people appreciate i am a fellow enthusiast, and we often have chats about each others cars... and i enjoy that.
I'm not going to start being rude to customers and refuse to chat to them.

Also, i'm not just here to sell policies, i'm here to help my clients.

If you want a broker who takes your money, then refuses to help if you have a claim then go elsewhere, i pride myself on my service to existing customers.

I try to find a balance between new quotes and existing customers, clearly i need to try harder with this.

I know it's about taking the rough with the smooth. I can't really moan about the negative posts whilst taking the credit for the positive ones.

Sorry if this upsets anyone, but like i said above, i'm only human.

I try my hardest, but this obviously isn't enough for some on here.

One final point, thank you to those who i am able to help, and who appreciate the work i put in. Your comments are definately appreciated, and make all this crap i get off some people worthwhile.

Gary

Ok Princess, dry your eyes, you are a business, you provide customer service by the best possible means, you have not done that IMO, that's the bottom line.

No slate against YOU gary, i just stated MY opinion,

If this was the first thread like this then i would be 100% on your side but it is not the first mate.

This site works both ways, being a active member gets you business as well as taking the hits as well.

Hopefully in future we can do business again. My opinion only.

I don't see the point in complaining about it, as consumers we have choices if we are not happy we normally go elsewhere dont we? . Gary is so good he has become a victim of his own success so fair play to him. PS Gary I need to call you tomorrow what time is your lunch break....
