That's the type of comment that put this country in the ****.

Billy Big Bollox syndrome. People wanting house prices to rise and rise for ever, so they can say they've bought a house for £600k. Yet 7 years previous it was only £180k.

Would BBB rather pay £180k or £600k for thet house? £600k of course, as it shows wealth (built up on debt) and sounds better.

He's happy to pay £600k for the house of course. Doesn't mean it's not way over priced though.

Each to their own but I have very little interest in the Olympics, just seems like a glorified sports day and paying a couple of grand to watch some blokes running 100 metres seems a bit strange, I can see it on telly if by some miracle I raise some interest.

I think there is some genuine interest and then some kind of middle class gold rush to get tickets so people can say they are going, my missus seemed keen and said the kids wanted to go but to be honest I asked and they were happy to go but not all that fussed but some of their mates were going so they felt they should.

My missus was going on about the atmosphere that will be there, dont get it at all myself, oh the collective excitement of watching a few blokes running 100 metres or someone swimming, jesus how boring watching someone at the baths who doesnt have big knockers and is actually swimming. I am sure there is something that may grab my limited attention span for a few minutes but travelling down to London in the middle of it all, spending a fortune and getting herded in massive crowds, f*ck that, especially as you had to be "lucky" enough to get a ticket for the first heat of the Ping Pong or Fencing at £50 each.

But he could have applied for three in the first place as I understand it.

You don't know wether or not its worth it untill you get there. If you can afford it then why not take the chance to find out. I have been lucky enough to have been given hospitality at a few good sporting events and some are worth it others not. You only find out when you get there.

Well I would never say that it won't be quite an experience, the atmosphere has got to be quite something, but what a price though!

Obviously not a case of age related wisdom with you.

I would prefer to put my money towards a 10 second car!

if you have the money, and like that sort of thing, then why not?

in my eyes they are vvvvv over prices, but then again if I said to someone i have spent 15k on a old 1999 subaru they would think im a nut job, but to me it has been worth every penny.

i was happy that i found 2 new wiper blades in the shed for the impreza and saved my self a couple of ££

Dave Middleton, 55, from Aberdeen, also received tickets to the men's 100m final.

"I only wanted to see Usain Bolt in the 100m final so that's all I applied for.

"I have two (grown-up) sons and only one of them can go. I've told them we'll have to toss a coin to decide," he said.
