I'm going to fit the front 400mm alcons and Pagid RS29's all around during the running in period, then I can flog 'near new' discs & pads on the GTR forum.
Also going to buy the Miltek y-pipe while I'm at Litchfields, but will fit that after the optimisation service. Stealer said I'd have to sign a disclaimer if they fitted it, so I'll do it after.
Have you got the Miltek with resonator? I'm worried about too much noise for track use so I might go for the resonated one...

I heard castle combe are strict (100db) and that's one of the closer tracks. I've got a radio shack speaker level meter which measures Db so I recon I can use that to do my own test...

I can't see me lasting long before it's Cobbed though, I waited two years before starting modding the Scooby and regretted not starting earlier
Looks like about 580-610bhp and same torque is a cheap target (y-pipe and Cobb custom tune, may be K&N drop in filters). Then for 620bhp+, injectors, full exhaust, turbo's and gearbox clips are all required...

Sorry yes, unistall the map but leave the cobb in the armrest....i'm not going to tell them i have one, but they can quickly work out i have from the blackbox.
Y-pipe alone does not require remap, it does however produce a fair bit of soot. I have y-pipe, intakes and a custom tune only and thats good for 591bhp and 630ftlbs....from there you are looking at downpipes, catback and injectors which is 640bhp and similar ftlbs......then it becomes aggressive with 750bhp costing you perhaps another 8-10k on top of all previous mods mentioned and then another 25k ontop of all that for 850+
Having had a gearbox issue in month two of ownership i was apprehensive about cobbing mine, however you live once and the car is just so much fuller, so much more responsive and so much more useable power......it is night and day over stock IMO

The real difference is Cobb is more than just a remap, plus Cobb can do gearbox relearn and I believe Cobb have nearly sorted the new MY11 gear box settings to work with older models....John is the man behind the scenes I'm sure he can bring you update

- Flashes boost gauge if it sees knock
- lets you read trouble shoot codes, ok may be useless while it's in warranty
- data logging
- load an anti-theft map if you're going on holiday
Features here:

And I recon Cobb will respond quicker to add new features than ECUTEK - they have a lot more users already.

It's a close call, both support multiple maps, speed density, transmission tweaks etc but the cobb has the edge:
- Flashes boost gauge if it sees knock
- lets you read trouble shoot codes, ok may be useless while it's in warranty
- data logging
- load an anti-theft map if you're going on holiday

I have some time to decide, but if Cobbs are close on the gearbox, then that will take it for me
Whats a gearbox relearn??? Should have looked this up beforehand....... but oh well

The optimisation service you will have will involve a gearbox re-learn, basically runs the logic that sets the clutches. Over time this degrades through wear and tear which is why every other service they will do another gear re-learn cycle, COBB gives you the ability to do this process at your discretion, usually i let it work its magic every 6 weeks just to keep things sharp and crisp
