well they said the parts in and its not plastic

its bakerlight or similar.....

ive told them if its the one i think it is i dont want it on my car, they are going to attempt to send a picture of it..

to make it even more ammusing, when i asked if the 2hours labour was for both mounts (and the cost of the part etc) they said no, just the one
so they would quote 4 hours to do both?!

surely they are taking the michael with doubling the labour when the engines already up on a jack or whatever

Did they say they would charge 4 hours labour for both or are you assuming they would?

I'd change them both if I were you.

they said they would as i queryed if the 2 hours labour included changing both
they said no it would be double that to change both

i really want to change them both, but not at the prices they are trying to charge me
and i can see me having to purchase the N parts or similar and have them shipped to haddocks.... im also worried they will try and charge me for the plastic engine mount they have as they ordered it in specially etc

I would find someone else to do it mate.

When you ordered the mount from them did you have to pay a deposit or did they say you would have to pay for it? If not go elsewhere and tell them to swivel.

I am amazed you have those sh1tty mounts, you defo dont want those. Changing engine mounts makes a massive difference to the movement of the engine and to have those in an STi that's due some fun driving is stupid IMHO

GrpN Engine mounts are a must !

GrpN's ordered, although the disaster in japan has caused a few stock issues :d
up to 7 working days they reckon, 120quid for the pair (which is 30quid cheaper than the single plastic mount from haddocks!)

hes also going to go pick my car up on a trailer from haddocks and keep it till the mounts turn up

GBH Motorsport for the work and Graham Goode for the parts

Used GBH to do my rad swap and they have investigated the odd leaks etc
so far been alright

Did consider FB but seemed a bit of a trek with a sheared mount :d

Glad your getting it all sorted out fella.

Them silly plastic (or bakerlight as subaru like to call them!!) mounts were im sure a cause for a recall in the US due to so many going.
You def dont want them going back on the car.

Half way through the 06 cars manufacture they changed back to the normal steel and rubber mounts, which why they all dont have them, just seems the earlier cars.

Your car will be much better with the GpN mounts, are you also changing the pitch mount under the TMIC?
As that one has the tendency to snap as well.

Have a look to check that one is ok, if not a have a spare gpN pitch mount at home that you can have off me.

Yes, order a CDF one which are good, I have a solid forged one from Beatrush Japan but there won't be time. It's not very hard to do the pitchstop so you could do it yourself

Other thing to get is the RogerClark Uprated STi gearbox mount, 10 minute job on a ramp to swap over and it holds the box solid You can launch till your hearts content then like me

I think all the pitch mounts are some sort of plastic, but the gpN ones are made from a harder compound.

This is the link to the ones i have, http://www.apexperformance.co.uk/cat...ges/5835sm.jpg

Its just i bought a CDF racing Alloy pitch mount so never used the one that came with the kit.
