I read on the BBC website today Sony are having to take PSN back off line at regular intervals at the moment due to the volume of people trying to get back on line and change passwords as they require you to do. They keep taking it offline to allow the passwords chance to update.

Heres the story for anyone who wants to read it
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-13403616

Right now i'm off back to my Xbox

So what about the "free games" they mentioned a few weeks back, truth or media BS ? I have had nothing via e-mail from PSN on this, anyone had any official info on it.

I had an email sent from PSN and there was mention of free games to download and 1 month free PSN+ whatever that is. I still can't even get online still though!

Yep free games will be coming in the "welcome back pack", I cant remember off the top of my head but there's a choice from 5 titles or something and some of them are fairly decent, little big planet for e.g.

Check this URL regularly for info,

The five titles to choose two from are apparently:

Little Big Planet
Infamous
Wipeout HD/Fury
Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty
Dead Nation

Thanks guys, most gaming links are blocked at work and I always get side tracked when I get home lol

Good info, I'm not complaining about the titles, we already have LBP and R&C so I think I'll try Wipeout (that takes me back to the PS1!!!!) and Dead Nation

I got the email and i changed my password so now can get online.
Apparently its because its not my original playstation that i opened my account on is the reason why, something to do with downloaded content.
My brother could change his password straight away on his ps3.
Well its all done now

Disappointing, I really expected something a little more "premium".

They're not bad considering network access is free!

Exactly. I think it's a good gesture by Sony. Far better then the free arcade game Microsoft gave when there was all the problems with live.

No issues changing passwords for me last night, changed and straight in

Also happy with a couple of free games, it's hardly been the end of the world, especially for people like me with kids and a busy life, gaming really is restricted these days, so I'm quite chuffed, and with having the slowest internet connection in the UK, I'd expect them to take 6 months to download, so i'm in no rush

Games will be available once the shop is back on line.

they stay installed but they will only work while you have plus, so after the free trial you'll have to get it to play.
