ps3 help !!!
pulling my hair out here !!! anyone know at all if the ps3 network is down !!! trying to log on but just getting "error occured 80710A06" i can get internet and status is showing connected but cannot seem to get in to play online!!!!

The PlayStation Network is down for “maintenance” in both Europe and the U.S., on the same day that the cross-platform Portal 2 launches on PlayStation 3 in Europe.
Although the Xbox 360 version of Portal 2 uses the normal Xbox Live servers, the PlayStation 3 uses Steam and as a result is able to connect with the PC and Mac versions of the game for co-operative play.
The title is the first PlayStation 3 game to use such a feature, which has been working since the launch of the game in the U.S. on Tuesday. Today though the whole PlayStation Network is down, and Portal 2 is unable to log-in users as a result.

No matter who took it down, or how it was taken down, 4 days down is unacceptable. Poor show Sony, you may well lose alot of customers for this.
At least I can still get my zombies fox on the 360!

Thing is Geezer if a hacking group decides to DDOS a server there isn't really alot you can do about it to stop it, unless you change all your network infrastructure and servers, which is probably what Sony are trying to do, well maybe

Saw my brother in law this afternoon he's on about going to trade in his PS3 tomorrow to get an Xbox instead.
What ever the pro'sand cons of each console a 4day + outage is getting pretty bad by anyones standards

i'd rather the ps3 was down over the easter hols, stops all the whiney 10 year old kids tearing me apart on cod and all the hackers ruining the games.
i do think about firing up my 360 but then its going to cost me nearly £100 to get the wireless adapter and then get online so i think i'll go outside and get some fresh air and sun on my back.

Xbox live has been free from the 21st up until midnight tomorrow. Sony pulled the plug on psn after they found that people using cfw and the rebug program have been accessing the psn dev network and downloading games for free . So instead of waiting to find out a way of stopping these idiots without hurting the legit gamers they have pulled the plug on everyone.
