Whats going on with the WYIOC? I've been out of the loop for sometime, due to family and work commitments but was hoping to make the next EOM at squires, will it be worth the journey, will there be anybody there? Looking forward to seeing the guys again (Bez, Phil T, Paul, Dunx, Jubby etc) but reading this it seems like there's trouble at mill? Hope i'm wrong as to be fair i always felt welcome and enjoyed the meets and events that i participated in.....Anyhow let me know that Squires is still on and i'll catch up next month!

Like the flying clasic on that humpback bridge !
Or Mick's "nasty" on Strines
Or chasing Sticky at some ridiculous speed on the Southern section
Or the three stooges in a Corsa,
Happy days.

P.S. Gman some go to Squire's for Jap Night on Tuesday !

wow, not been on here for a while
i have some great memories of the club and some of the great people i met with my time in the club, but personal circumstances meant that i made the hard decision to step away.
during my last few months though there was real progress, we did have a club website, cos i built it, but when i left it was passed on and since then retired, it even had a killer forum, but to stay sweet with scoobynet, it was never used.
WYIOC has to make a decision now about where its future lies, no more can the club just bimble along with a few coffees at squires and a track day or two at blyton, great fun as it is, its like SSDD... thats what i go to work for!!!!
thats my two penneth, not that you have to listen to me of course, cos a) i'm a southerner, and b) most of you have probably forgotten all about me anyway!!!!
long live the wyioc!

as dunx has pointed out, there are still plenty of scoobs in the west yorkshire area. but for them to want to join a club or come to meets people need some kind of encouragment.its not just getting them to the club, its keeping them interested while they are there.not wanting to sound off hear but tbh for the past couple of years now there has been nothing in the wyioc for any car enthuisiast to be interested in.i did pay as a member the year before last but for that i never even received a sticker or had my name put on the list.i'm not one to be too bothered about things like that but if everyone else gets that kind of service then they are going to go elsewere.i entered most sprint days as did a lot of others but there was no wyioc presence at all for the people in the club who were competing.for a club to be succesfull it needs to have something going on for its members and make them feel like they are getting something for the money they pay to join, even if they are not paid members and just like to come along for a chat and join in on events.

The homepage reminds of a Bupa website lol Maybe the whole club image needs a revamp. I think it would be great to have video clips of the members describing their cars and why they love scoobies, along with a few words from the owner welcoming people to the club, short films of the club cars at the meets and events, pictures of members cars etc.

We aren't all photogenic, nor do I want anyone with a grudge knowing all about me, or my car.

P.S. Once got offered a filling-in from a muppet on here, some would say I need it

That's a very good point. Didn't think of that to be honest. Anyway I want to be part of the club as my new scooby comes in three weeks and counting!!

Folks,
What's the deal with this club then? I bought my first Scooby 9 months ago and have been a casual observer on here trying to find out if I turned up at Squires whether I would end up a muppet on my own.
I don't know anything about the history of this club as I moved here from Scotland and, yes, a new owner, but as I said I am interested in getting involved in the WYIOC; new blood if you want to call it that. Wanted a scoob for years and having now got it I'm keen to get to know other enthusiasts. So, is there still a meet? Whoever is in charge let me know if there is and I'll be there end of August.
Here's hopein'...

As has been said, the WYIOC went into decline several years back when the founder members moved away from the scene and no-one really took up the running of the club in the way it had blossomed previously. I think the http://www.wy-scoobs.com/portal.php looks like the best regional alternative now.

Just a thought but why don't people meet up at Jap night (1st tuesday of the month at squires) in a couple of weeks to get the ball rolling again? I went to squires at the end of july and not 1 scoob or member turned up, where as jap night there were half a dozen, non of which i had seen before. New people, new interest, another chance for the WYIOC to shine? For those who do decide to go in a couple of weeks, see you there!

Hi, Guys
Hi,guys.
just joined the club.im new to scoobies.had mine 2 weeks and loving it !!. and so, joined the club. i will try make the jap night.
but i have read through the posts on the subject of the club.and my opinion for what its worth as a new member is...
we need a commitee... must have !! or theres no real organisation with the club.
once that is in place need to get the website sorted.and then start to push for more members.and get a few things organised. once theres real commitment with the group.then you will attract new members..which means more faces on the forum which means more interest...you see what im getting at?
theres no doubt that this could be a great club. but,it does need to be run as a club.
anyway guys im in .. lets get some solid proposals down. and get the club moving !!
