to all members of the wyioc
this is just a little message to all members
the wyioc has a place in my heart, so you need to make the club as good as it was 6/7 years ago
i hate to see what its become of it , there wasnt a day went past that some one wasnt posting up things to do and little meets , even for a coffee and chat
we was out every chance we got and it was a club to be proud of
we had our ups and downs like all clubs do , but been mate with every one soon made you realise you need to sort it out , not just for the club but as mates
iv met some of the best people i will ever meet from me been part of the wyioc
scott, sarah, mick , debs, sticky, paul, dave, alan, john, ste
and this is only a few
iv had my highs and lows with the club all too well lol
i dont want to sound like im been a **** , or telling you what you should be doing
please make the wyioc stand out again ;-)

But life moves on, as have nearly all the folks you mention...
Saw Skywalker and Sarah a while back.
It's down to attracting fresh blood now, IMHO.

As I seem to fall towards LADSOC and WYIOC id me more than happy to join the club officially, but as Dunx said, even if I Join I cannot commit my time to monthly meets, but it doesnt mean im less interetsed in being 'involved'. 2 Jobs, 2.1 kds and an active life... hmmm sunday just arnt practical for a coffee 25 miles away for me unless i have a blank calander date.

I'm sorry to say but it looks like peoples hearts arnt in the club anymore, the issues that have arisen over the last year have made the WYIOC a shadow of it's former self and it will take a hell of alot to get it back to what it used to be.
I've been a part of this club for 4 years and will always stick by it scoob or no scoob but there's hardly any members anymore and/or members who have given up (not participating/not posting) so what can be done??
I don't know anymore......sad

Yet I saw three "new" cars in the Morley area just over lunch time...
A white classic, a Wr1 coloured hawkeye, and a blue "blob".
It's partly getting the message out there, that we're still here.

as dunx has pointed out, there are still plenty of scoobs in the west yorkshire area. but for them to want to join a club or come to meets people need some kind of encouragment.its not just getting them to the club, its keeping them interested while they are there.not wanting to sound off hear but tbh for the past couple of years now there has been nothing in the wyioc for any car enthuisiast to be interested in.i did pay as a member the year before last but for that i never even received a sticker or had my name put on the list.i'm not one to be too bothered about things like that but if everyone else gets that kind of service then they are going to go elsewere.i entered most sprint days as did a lot of others but there was no wyioc presence at all for the people in the club who were competing.for a club to be succesfull it needs to have something going on for its members and make them feel like they are getting something for the money they pay to join, even if they are not paid members and just like to come along for a chat and join in on events.

It would be a great shame for the wyioc to disappear into the wilderness
As they have always had a great presence at the NBO over the last 8 years
A good website and forum is necessary
A good committee
A monthly meeting
A list of who is going to the meeting
Talking on the forum about things we actually did
A couple of runs a year
A couple of charity events
Cheque presentation (over at Cs we have given over £1100 to cocker mouth mountain rescue
A treasurer
A technical expert
An eccentric <vision> maker
And not too expensive membership
Cumbrian Scoobs charged £5 for 5years now we put it up to a tenner and we still have hundreds in the bank for projects
And most of all everyone has a laugh
We have a bar meal at the meetings it costs under a tenner and we very rarely get out of the pub before 11 pm we are enjoying ourselves so much
We have over 50 paid up members and 20 hardcore who have never missed a meeting for years
Over at TTS we have similar numbers and have been going for over ten Years too

There never used to be bitching before some members joined.....I thought it was about the cars and having good times,I've been proved wrong. As long as everybody is happy doing what they are doing so be it...

i joined a few years ago, when i had my first scoob, and then i sold it, and didnt have one up until recently... i have noticed the forum is very quiet, even when i had my first scoob, work commitments, family etc, didnt let me do half the stuff i wanted, and now its even worse... i will contribute to the forum as i am online most days, but as for meets etc, i just dont have the time.... its a shame cos there are some very good people here.... also, i think its becuase that many people have sold their scoob, due to the cost, and many people buying classics are stupid chavs who just wanna upset most of us who actually care for the car..

but then built up again, times were good.
A few months back, there was another fall out, now the club is in limp mode again, it is the same people in the fall outs, without addressing this issue it will happen again.
The club can be a good club again.
£25 is not a lot of money.
So if all club members give me £25 it will go a long way towards my van.
I never agreed to buying a Van with my subs.
And especially on that does not get used.
Then £25 to the WYIOC was in my eyes a waste of money.
I do hope it gets to be a good club again.
Who went the Elvington from the WYIOC.
Nobody.
Why?
Because nobody organised it.
That says a lot about the club.
Start doing thing again,
look at what the club had the other year, Banners, stickers, displays, members. it was one of the best clubs,
Try and get it back there,
saying you are going to do it and then not do it int going to do it.
I am sorry to post like this, But I think it needs to be said.

But the van was used...it was bought to cart the stuff from show to show because members wanted to take their scoobs. It was taken to a vote and members agreed to get the van.
The best thing is a meeting needs to be had but I pretty much know people won't turn up so it will never get resolved.
I've said it before and I'll say it again I want everybody to get on and the club to do well

The club as tried to use this Gazeebo I think its too big, should of got smaller Gazeeboes that would fit in the cars,
these are my views.
WYIOC still have the Van & big Gazeebo, but not too many active members.
As for things getting resolved, your right it is not going to happen,
as for the WYIOC becoming a great club again. In time, Yep.
but events have to be organised and gone to, at this point in time this is not happening.
Who was going to an event this weekend, and who did not go, who said they were going,
this happens too much withing the club, same guys all the time.
come on now open your eyes.
If you don't want me to post on here any more just say, if you do want me to post on here, make the club as it was,
ether way look after your selves & if you do get a meet together, catch you all then.
I'm not here to fall out, just to point out.

£25 is not a lot of money but it is money and really from when i paid up a bit ago money for nothing as has been posted above.
i used to spend a lot of time browsing and posting on here and would come on the wyioc site a couple of times a day, this is the first time i've looked on here in weeks now because nothing ever gets organised and it rarely changes on here.
now dont get me wrong i have met some brilliant friends through this very club/site who i would not of known without it,while on the other hand there are a good few who i haven't spoken two words to as they seem to wrapped up in their own little circle of friends.(this is not what you want to experiance as someone new wanting to join a club and is what i came across the first few meets i went to)
just my two pence worth
Tim

I will add that when I joined it was an enthusiasts club.
It seemed to become a catering operation geared solely to shows.
Now I like a drink as well. But too much emphasis was on this sole aspect of the club's activity. IMHO.
Unlike others here I'm no great shakes as an organiser, but even "we" motorsport nuts are guilty of just turning up and being there, rather than organising it fully.
dunx
P.S. Busy killing/re-building mine at the moment, but hope to be back later in the year.

Hi everyone, I have not been on here for some time or been to club events so I don't no what's been going on do to becoming a parent and having another go at rugby but hoping to get involved this year. When I joined there was lots going on but not allot now but I must admit it did get a bit klicky I felt. But I did enjoy being in the club and hope it gets back to being a good club.

Think that reading it wrong is half the problem on here, people mis-understanding what others have written and taking offence to things that were meant in a totally un-offensive manner. It is a shame whats happened over the last few months. Ive made some of my best mates through the club and even ended up with a dog lol. I love my car and love driving it / breaking it / and fixing it, pretty essential with impreza ownership. Every one Ive met in the club has a lot in common, obvously people have their differences and probably always will, but I dont see why with a bit of effort on all parts the club could not go back to what it should be about.
