Just had a race with an e46 M3
Anyway, each to their own. Everyone has an opinion
I don't know when the OP conducted his race if I'm honest. I was just trying to highlight a point about the roads and public who use them. The silly thing is midnight on a dual carriage-way could be equally as dangerous as it is at rush hour. That's just the sort of time some drunken fool will be leaving the pub in dark clothes and decides to wander along it, or cross it.
Anyway, each to their own. Everyone has an opinion

How often do you track your car? If not why do you own an impreza then? Yes we all have an opinion but sometimes it goes of the chain as everyone seems to be "road angels" :Whatever ....
i get a lead foot now and then. what about the **** in the M3, provocation lol........ this morning a fiesta st decided to overtake on the outside of the roundabout A444/M42 1st he understeered (wet surface) then off the gas so oversteered then he over corrected and tank slappered off the wrong exit for a lucky escape, me and my work colleague were laughing all the way to work..
I'm gonna be doing some track days in the summer, and maybe a day with the likes of Don Palmer. As for being a road angel........ I can have fun without breaking the law. That's my choice as it's my car, my insurance and my life. I can't say I never nudge the limit 'cause I'm only human. There's a big difference though to that and doing what a lot of people here do, admitting to racing on a public road

All this inference about having an Impreza means you have to drive it in a certain way is stupid.
As I said, each to their own
I have read the post and each to there own,i have had performance cars since the age of 20 and the only reason i buy a car is to drive. Why else would i spend money on mods and a remap on a car that can do 140 mph as std.
If there is an open road and good conditions then why not. I do not drive my honda civic the same way as my scoob as it is a 1.4 N/A and the last time i was caught for speeding was in a diesel galaxy doing 34 mph. Just my personal opinion, but why buy a car that has good performance to drive on the public roads if you dont want to use the power . My 2001 1.4ltr honda civic will do 100 mph ,but i dont push it to that as it was not designed for rapid acceleration or high top end power , when i want some fun then its the subaru.

Nick next time you fancy a play with an M3 give me a knock and no-one will know
The M3 is a refined car that is quick over 100mph, under that a tuned Impreza will have it all day long. They are completely different cars though, for fun I use my Impreza but for a lovely drive without hassle with cruise control & a decent stereo I use the M3, I took the M3 off the road at the beginning of December and it's had 3 days out since
By off the road I mean it's in the garage

He was sat on my **** in light traffic for about 5 miles, he kept dropping back and then flooring it, we couldnt go anywhere so i couldnt see the point in that. Anyway all the cars cleared and the road opened up i knew it was game on as he was basically pushing me along, we just came off a small roundabout wiith a long straight ahead we must have been doing 20mph i floored it in 2nd and took off and went racing through the gears as the m3 became a smaller dot in my mirror. We had other chances but it seemed however fast we were going in whatever gear i just pulled away.
Maybe at 100+ speeds it might be a different story, but i thought it was going to be quicker.
Come on the scoobies
