Default Just had a race with an e46 M3

He was sat on my **** in light traffic for about 5 miles, he kept dropping back and then flooring it, we couldnt go anywhere so i couldnt see the point in that. Anyway all the cars cleared and the road opened up i knew it was game on as he was basically pushing me along, we just came off a small roundabout wiith a long straight ahead we must have been doing 20mph i floored it in 2nd and took off and went racing through the gears as the m3 became a smaller dot in my mirror. We had other chances but it seemed however fast we were going in whatever gear i just pulled away.
Maybe at 100+ speeds it might be a different story, but i thought it was going to be quicker.
Come on the scoobies

i had a race with an M3 (new v8 one) on the way home from work. I won easily as nobody would let him out of the busy junction we were waiting at :P

Power to weight is the key, I recently embarrassed a brand new M3. Think they are around the 420 mark, unfortunately for the mug driving it 420 wasn't nearly enough.
332 bhp per ton, would take something special to stick with that. Even the new Nissan GTR doesn't make anywhere near that.

PS, also had a blat against a new V8 M3, I didnt need anywhere near that much power to be quicker and in a fat lardy new age too

My car is running 382 BHP and weighed in at 1150KG. If my calculations are correct then that works out at 332 BHP per ton.

Uk's are 1250kg, STI RA's are similar, type R's are 1270kg, but then you have the gearing, any added weight due to all the mods you have to add like HUGE spoiler (heavier than standard ) upgraded brakes (heavier), bigger wheels (heavier), basically everything is heavier, even adding a strut brace (more weight even if it is carbon fibre )

Think I worked that out from 1270kg, not 1150, so go 1270/332x100=382

Air con out (everything), light exhaust system over standard, stainless manifold (much lighter than original), all carpets out, rear seats out, bottom half of dash out, speakers and all unessasary wires out, sound deadening all gone, Rear door cards gone, All seat belts gone, spare wheel out,
Weighed with minimal fuel.

Probably a few other light bits I've forgotten.

Ferrari 360 Modena tried to get past me for 4 miles on a road with straights no longer than 150 yards and plenty of bends. He was follwing me and i chose that road instead of 1 mile bypass. He followed me home and we looked at each others car. 05 STi Type UK

I used to own an E46 M3 they really move, maybe not in first as much as trying to put the power down, however if your scoob is running those figures like you say PTW plus 4wd !
